So I was looking at my new chimera model on my desk today and thinking about what little Details I should add to it. For the first time I noticed there's no exhaust pipe on it anywhere. Does anyone know what's the deal with this???

I'm just guessing Gw didn't think that one through when they designed it.

The Chimera has twin engines.
Each engine is fed from an internal fuel supply, with the engines mounted inside of the track assemblies.
See the trio of openings on the sides of the track assemblies?
Those are the engine exhausts.

yea I thought the same thing, but then remember that in the how to paint citadel tanks book" on page 70 it, explains these are "mud chutes" for liquid and mud in the track assemble to be expelled. I agree though that they would be the only obvious place for the exhaust since no traditional exhaust pipe exist on it.

Given the lack of otehr openings in the hull, its either those side openings, or the thing uses micro-fusion powered engines and therefore no exhaust

As an amphibious vehicle there should be an exhaust vent on the top of the hull somewhere (so the exhaust can still be released when the vehicle is crossing water) most likely this vent should be located somewhere like the front left hull behind the hull gunners station. Looking at other imperium vehicles we do know that their vehicles engines are quite small and efficient (compared to 21st century standards anyway) so if you're looking to model this exhaust port onto your models a small grating that wouldn't get in the way of the turret would probably do the trick.

Yeah I'm thinking I'm just going to model one since Ghostofman makes a good point about it tracking through water.

You could always take an exaust stack from a leman russ and either glue it to the back next to the hatch or glue it to the top of the hull.

That's what I'm talking about doing. I'm thinking of cutting a two wholes, one on pass and one on the driver side of the top of the hall and putting a Russ stack in them.

Dont need to cut any holes. The exhaust bit for the Russ is flattened on one side to glue to the back of the tank. Just glue the whole bit to the chimera and call it done.
