So I'm getting ready to start work on a new army, but my girl friend says I have to get rid of one I have before I can start on a new one. It's a fair request since I have so many armies that I'm running out of space. I've decided to part ways with my pre-heresy World Eaters.

Before I do that I decided to publicize their existence so that I'll have something to look back at later. Their development started with the release of the Blood Angels codex. It seemed the best book for this counts-as army. Keep in mind that these were started before much of the nifty Forge World pre-heresy stuff was released, though I did integrate many parts from Forge World as they were released.

Unit choices were based off what would be fun to model. The 1500pt force consists of:

HQ
Kharn the Betrayer (counts as Gabriel Seth)

Elites
Apothecary (counts as Sanguinary Priest)
Contemptor Dreadnought (count as Furioso/Death Company Dread)

Troops
15 Tactical marines
10 Assault marines
10 Berserkers (counts as Death Company)
Rhino/Razorback
2 Drop Pods

HV Support
5 Devastators
Predator





The Apothecary's backpack is magnetized so he can have a jump pack

I like the blood on the chainaxes, it looks nice and thick.

Very nice! my only negative is that Kharn's axe is much to small.

I saw the handprint, and it's awesome (it's on the chest of the berserker with no helmet).
LOVE THE KHARN MODEL.

Makes me appreciate my missus even more, she keeps buying me minis and encouraging me to display the ones I've painted If she made me choose between my models and her I'm not sure if she'd like the result

:hearteyes: man I'm in love with these. My favorite legions are Luna wolves, world eaters, and death guard. I gotta say your kharn model is spectacular. And the painting looks good. It's great inspiration for me to do more death guard stuff and then move onto my world eaters and Luna wolves stuff.

Thanks for the compliments guy. It shows that the hard work has paid off. I enjoy converting a lot more then painting now, so it can be hard to finish a project.

I'll plan on taking some glamour shots of the army in a light box before I sell it, and with the Horus Heresy book releasing soon it seems like a good time.

Including this one I think the count is at 9.

These are almost exactly how i want my WIP world eaters to look, just please tell me how you did the blood. I'm at a loss as to how to do it

I found a great tutorial for blood and just followed the recipe. It's all about Tamiya clear red with a hint of black. For the buildup of colors I used Reaper's Bloodthirsty reds triad.

Nice! The blood effects on the chain-axes, and blood splatter on the armor are really cool.

Forge World are about to release a heresy era rulebook called 'Betrayal', which contains Great Crusade and Istvaan 3, and includes Angron, rules and model as well as World eaters rules and new units.

just thought you would like to know. sorry if it comes across as unfair or something.

I know all about the upcoming Forge World book as I've been feverishly checking for more info since it was announced.

The problem is their styling doesn't match what I've already made. No worries though, I'll just start a Sons of Horus legion.
