So, I had an idea, now that I am happily building up a Nurgle chaos daemons army for
40k
I loved nurgle, and I read up on all the fluff on him, and at one point, there is mention of him creating a zombie plague, which has destroyed whole worlds in the
40k setting.
My idea, is to create an army, which follow's that theme, for which I mean, running a nurgle daemon army, where the models are various forms of zombies, lead by a nurgle herald. Lemmie demonstrate.
Troops:
Plaguebearers:
Rebasing these models onto round bases, and clipping away the weapons, or replacing with basic
40k knives from a bitzbox, would allow you to have hordes of shambling human zombies, as your mainstay troops.
Nurglings:
Rebasing these scaven ratswarms, and making them look diseased, is the perfect way in my eyes, to emulate the nurgling's swarms, in a zombie fashion. Swarms of crazed, diseased rats
Elites: Beasts of nurgle
You could either rebase these onto 40mm bases, to make them into mutated zombies for beasts, or else, use any of the many many mutated beasty models there are out there. Could even use a variety of different ones, as long as it's clear they are all beasts of nurgle.
For the
HQ, epidemius naturally fills the part as the cheif daemon, overseeing the zombie plague. That, or a great unclean one, can be unchanged, same goes for daemon princes, they could be sent in to monitor the spread of the zombie plague.
I think this would be an awesome sight, and make for awesome games, imperial guard vs the shambling dead, crawling from the piles of corpses littering a battlefield (Deepstriking)
What do you think?
