I don't see Grey Knights up there, but second to that I'd pick some home-grown chapter using any of the Marine Codexes.

I mostly see Blood Angels armies jumping around. Next to that, it would be Grey Knights and then Homebrew ( my own SM army is a Homebrew, in fact.)

Grey Knights arent really a Space Marine Chapter... more like inquisition lap dogs

Not the Ultrasmurfs!!!11!

But seriously, I think Grey Knights, but that's because plenty of people play them at my FLGS.

By definition, they are a space marine chapter. Just because they serve the inquisition does not make them any less of a space marine chapter.

Yes they are a Space Marine Chapter by definition, but they are also not, and i certainly was not implying that they were 'any less' than a Space Marine Chapter.

They werent part of the original founding not subsequest ones, there was no Primarch and they are not decended from one (i mean geen seed obviously), follow different rules/regulations, they are all psykers.. most importantly they dont have the FEEL of a Space Marine Chapter.. well in my opinion anyway. So yes they are super humans in power armour but i wouldnt say they were space marines

Its gotta be the Ultras, although with the new box i can see the Dark Angels giving them a run for their money.

Space wolves is leading somehow.

I think Blood Angels are pretty popular. That's all I see. Lots of red and gold. I think they've usurped the Ultramarines as "that generic army you see and have no outward reaction towards". I'd much rather see ultramarines than the blood angels or grey knights.

Everyone and their mother has Blood Angels, ironically GW's poster boys come off so plain that people want their army to not be plain so they pick the next best thing, inadvertently making that choice plain...

The most common chapter used? I could have guessed either wolves and B.Angels... Everyone uses them, to the extent I never want to collect them they are that overplayed.

I'm just starting a 30k imperial fists army so I'd like to see more of them. But even more then that I'd love to see a white scars army... I have NEVER seen one

I played BA when they were a PDF codex, but after the new codex came out I sold them. It just wasn't very fun facing off against kids who played them for the power builds, while I still ran jump-assault lists... of course in hindsight I would love to play a jump-assault list again!

Homebrew Chapters is what I see the most. The people who like Space Marines around me, prefer to come up with their own color scheme and symbol. Then they play their Space Marines with the Chapter Tactics they want for the match.

3 Dark Angels locally, no primary Blood Angels, there used to be two, now there's only one guy who owns them and doesn't play them much. Haven't seen Space Wolves since mid-6th, the only local Grey Knights army was stolen, and I've never seen Ultramarines.

You might be then correctly deduce there isn't a lot of Space Marine players around here. The 2nd place for commonly seen Space Marines are Star Phantoms and Minotaurs, two Forgeworld chapters, by virtue of me and one other guy having them and playing them a great deal.

For dudes in power armour more generally? Black Legion. Almost everyone has a CSM army, and 3 of them are Black Legion.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.
