This is a forum to discuss which special rule is the most aptly named.

My vote is for Marneus Calgar 's special rule God of War

How are you going to win against a model that is the God of War?

I like the name of the rule Hammer of Wrath. It just sounds like something really bad is happening.

Easy, you make him stub his toe and the rest of his army will be forced to make a wall around him out of their corpses.

I am going to go with Decent of Angels.

If you want apt, then I guess "fearless." If you want amusing, there's plenty of those in the ork book.

Pretty much all the special rules for Orkz.

"He's Right Behind You!". It's Marbo's special rule that lets you place him wherever you want with no scatter.

Don't have the 'nid codex on me, but the rules for deathleaper are pretty cool, I'm pretty sure they're 'It's after me!' "Where did it go?" and I can;t remember the third one at all.

Tactical Genius. If you're good enough to outflank an Imperator Titan without anyone noticing, I'd say you've earned the title...

It's a Grot's Life, Jones is Acting Strangely. Those two are pretty evocative.

It was a 2nd ed rule that caused a model (models?) to have a chestburster pop out of them. Silly stuff!

I think its still the name of the Parasite of Mortrax's implant thingy special rule.

I do like the conversations that arise from Marbo's rule.

I try to see how long I can keep this going until they pick up the book and find out that he is, in fact, behind you.

Admittedly, I only do it with mates I like tormenting.

I have seen more raised eyebrows from Marbo's rules than probably everything else in this game combined.

Monolith's deep striking? Ok, that's cool.

Land Raiders deep striking? Yeah, totally bro.

Your harliquins force me to roll 2d6 for me to see them? Yeah, that makes sense.

Your grey knights have a sniper that can blow up Leman Russes in one shot and remove invulns? Seems legit.

But an I5 /BS5 /Ws5 guardsman with 2 wounds with stealth who has a sniper pistol, a poisoned +2 close combat weapon with a demo charge who can pop up literally wherever he damn well pleases is where they draw the line at disbelief

As one guy put it "holy crap, that dude is like Rambo or something!"

They weren't attempting to be subtle because they didn't want to. Same reason they called him Sly Marbo.

There's a difference between stealing ideas and making a joke about them. The dude's in the game as a joke, and he has rules that reflect his one-man army status. Catachans in their entirety are one big walking reference to every 80s and 90s action flick ever made. The Catachans in Dawn of War 2 speak almost entirely in one liners.

I like the new Chaos Marines rule, Veterans of the Long War. Sounds grim and dark, just the way I like it.

"Don't press Dat" - has to be the best named rule i have come across.

"Our weapons are useless" isn't bad

some of the guard ones are quite good also - "send in the next wave"
