I am trying my army to be very competitive against such as tau and eldar/DE/ non space marine armies etc.
Here is the list:

HQ:
Great unclean one (cloud of flies) 165
Great unclean one (cloud of flies) 165

Troops:
3 Nurglings 39
3 Nurglings 39

Heavy Support:
Daemon Prince 80
Daemon Prince 80
Daemon Prince 80

please give me any advice on being competitive against non- space marine armies/eldar/DE

Ok, I'm afraid that this is going to need to change quite a bit. For starters you have absolutely no shooting, secondly everything's really slow, and thirdly you can't even capture objectives unless you're playing big guns never tire.

Far too many points sunk into this. You are going to need to sink your points into the most efficient choices available, especially in low points games, not into a slot that you have to take as that is unlikely to be the most efficient choice. So drop both of these, and take a standard Herald of Nurgle going with the theme, saving more points for better choices.

These guys have first blood written all over them, they're not awesomely durable, they can't score and a blob of 3 isn't going to do anything for you, so 80pts sat around doing nothing, which in competitive list building is what you try to avoid. Drop these, and go for 2 squads of 3 Plaguebearers instead, they can actually score and are decently durable, and so can fill the deckchair roll pretty well. I'd probably go for Horrors but I know you want the Nurgle theme.

Not really sure what the plan for these is, drop at least one of them, possibly even 2.

With the spare points, you're probably going to want to pick up a squad of flamers, just to prey on a small and easy unit at the beginning of the game to get that first blood point. Then you can start kitting out your DPs. Try and give them flight to make them some speed and then you can go for whichever upgrades you prefer.

Hope this is useful.

Actually - this looks like a list to me that is devoted to simply tabling an opponent. In that regard - it will probably be effective at this point level.

My only recommendation would be to swap in Plaguebearers (in units of 5) so you can actually hold an objective. They will probably cost you one Daemon Prince - but 4 Monstrous Creatures at this point level is still pretty brutal.

The army is way too slow and the troops are too squishy.

Start with this:

1 Great Unclean One
2 Flying Demon Princes with MoN.

The 2 DP can put some pressure on your opponent.

Now fill out the troops however you want, add a 3rd DP or 2nd Unclean One. I would go Plague Bearers if you want to field minimal troop sizes. Nurglings are not bad but then you need 10 bases per unit not 3.

But you're not going to table anybody if you're too slow to get into combat with them and you have no shooting.

If you want to be competitive against fast, shooty armies like Tau and Eldar, you should not be going with base princes with no flight.

Drop 2 princes and a GUO, give the two remaining DPs flight, MoN, and BoC.

Those two FMCs will destroy basically everything at this points level.

With Tau, the easy counter to this would be either suits or fire warriors walking around backwards while you chase them. A few turns of shooting and you are dust with this slow list.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Especially when you consider that your GUOs cannot even run due to slow and purposeful.

I would also be a little worried about Dark Eldar since they can be very fast and their splinter weapons don't care how tough your MCs are.

650 points, pure nurgle daemons like you were aiming for:

Herald: Breath, palanquin, flies - 100

5 plaguebearers - 75
5 plaguebearers - 75

Prince: iron hide, wings, breath - 200
Prince: iron hide, wings, breath - 200

Now, you could drop breath from the herald and princes, but then you have no way of getting through a horde army.
Wings need to stay otherwise you will get nowhere.
Herald simply adds in 3 more wounds to a unit of plagues and helps them last longer. (breath and flies)

Really isnt an amazing list, but pure nurgle will never really have a solid list at low points.
