So im kinda tired of just participating in the hobby, I kinda want to contribute to it.
So i was thinking of starting a painting video channel, Filled with tutorials on how to paint thing simply and effectively.
But im kinda cautious about how to go about it, Such as what i would need(im guessing a good webcam or any camera but my 100$ handheld one)

A few things I consider mandatory for video tutorials:
HD camera. Clarity is a major need, as is the ability to focus in on very close objects.

A proper microphone. Camera mics are not enough. They sound terrible. I could link some examples of that, but no need. Don't talk while filming painting shots, just paint. Then when you are editing the footage, overdub the audio on top of it.

Proper editing software. Sony Vegas is a good one, others are fine as well.

Proper lighting. The images need to be very well lit on camera so that viewers can see every last little detail.

As for formatting, don't do real time tutorials. No one wants to watch you crank out a tabletop quality model in 60 minutes. Compress tabletop quality videos down to about 10 minutes.

The kind of links I'd give for free software aren't allowed here >.>

To me, all software is free if you look hard enough.

that said, I'm sure there is some kind of review site that covers video editing freeware.

is that a microsoft program? if so I'd not use it.

Microsoft freeware has always been lackluster IMO.

nope.

Any high end gamer headset should have a good enough mic though. Anything above $50 really.

Also a biggie would be a good tripod for your camera. Its pretty nauseating (literally) to watch someone paint while the cam is bobbing up and down.

There are some really cool monkey claw ones out there that are really cheap.
