Ello everyone!

After searching the internet high and low without striking gold i now turn to the wise peaople of Dakka.
Trying to make eldar flyers work in a normal 40k game, since every input about them is different from the next

I found that both the phoenix and the vampire heavy bomber have the strafing run rule but no bomb profile to be found and that different bomb profiles goes to different races or different flyers.

I therefore raise the question here in hope that somone with more knowledge than me could enlighten me

You won't get the stats here, but the most recent rules for them would be found in Imperial Aeronautica from Forge World, I think. They can also be found in Imperial Armour 11. Unless you are confusing them with similarly named Dark Eldar vehicles.
Try looking at the Forge World site for FAQ for a tiny bit more info on them.

Oh and the Vampire is a super heavy.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

You might want to re-read the rules for strafing run, since it has nothing to do with bombs. The Eldar flyers might have "bomber" in the fluff title, but rules-wise they do not have bombs.

Thank you guys for the replies.
After re-reading twice i feel like a total donkey for mixing strafing run and bombing run... Thank you for pointing that out.

Also, regarding the nightwing interceptor unit, after checking what they have done in the update regarding flyers and some tanks do you think its fair that they removed the interceptor rule to it?

Or would you just play with the model with the shuriken cannons mounted on anti-aircraft mounts?`

The current rules for fliers makes the old interceptor rule unnecessary. You still target using the fliers BS.

Honestly, I'm more worried about my Nightwing's lack of a functional base than anything else...

Oh realy? Where does it say that?
In the overall explenation of flyers in the 40k rulebook?
Thought i had gone over the flyers rules to 100% but clearly i havent.

Yes, the fliers section of the rulebook indicates that fliers targeting fliers use listed BS, which is what the old interceptor basically said by way of AA mounts. Basically for ground forces the AA mounts rule has been replaced by Skyfire.

To clarify:

Before 6th edition if your weapon didn't have the "AA mount" rule you needed a 6 to hit. This was done weapon by weapon so, for example, a Thunderbolt had two TL ACs with an AA mount and a TL LC without the rule. You'd hit on BS with the ACs, and only on 6s with the LC.

The Nightwing had a special rule named "Interceptor" which said "all of this vehicle's weapons have the AA mount special rule". Against flyers all of its weapons hit on normal BS. This had nothing to do with the current Interceptor USR, it just used the same name (since no other "Interceptor" rule existed at the time).

In 6th Skyfire replaced AA mount, and Skyfire for flyers applies to the entire model, not just individual weapons. The Nightwing's former special rule instantly became redundant because all it said was "this vehicle can do something it can already do simply because of its vehicle type". Therefore it was removed for the sake of simplicity, and since it was the only instance of the old Interceptor rule the old rule ceased to exist as well.

The new Interceptor rule is the same in name only, it just uses the name because it sounds cool.

5mm neodymium magnets are easy to attach to both the flier base and the Nightwing. The flier base will need extra support, though, so stick some plasticard or similar up top. Works well, but make sure the top surface is frosted to avoid... extra movement.

Or, here's a better idea: get a flight stand with a 6" (or 12" for display) acrylic rod: http://www.dragonforge.com/Painting%20service/for%20sale/sculpting_supplies.htm . You don't even need to use the top bit, just add a pin to the top of the stand and drill a matching hole in the model to keep it fixed in place.
