Hello,

because in this forum are many professional people which can very good build new miniatures out GW and others bits so i turn to you.

I have a little project in mind, i would like to build the miniature "Skraat" out of the comics "eat a tau".

A pic which character i mean: http://darkdarius.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=0#/d4t6v1i

So i had in mind i use an lizard men kroxigor as body but the head can be a problem then:

-I don't now how tall the miniature is
- and second the big problem the head of the kroot is to small

I am thankful for every help i get.

Greetings from Germany

X-Alpha

honestly just from that pic he looks like a regular kroot with some tribal fetishes, so I would stick with a kroot body and maybe get some of the skulls from the lizardman temple guard box (you may need to trim them off I'm not familiar with that kit) although I've never read Eat a Tau (I'm assuming it's a comic) so I'd need a bit of a bio on the guy.

I think a normal kroot is about as tall as a space marine, and this guy is only a hair taller than a normal kroot if my calculations are correct. honestly just add a little more height where the body connects with the legs and he should be about right. a kroxigor would be way too big for this guy. this guy is about 8.2 feet, a kroxigor is maybe like 10 or 15 feet way too big. I honestly think your best bet is to add a bit of height on to a normal kroot and give him the skull things, and you should be golden.

the great part about that part of the kroot is that all you need to do is sculpt a few more of his "abs" and smooth out the back, but if you want to add some more spines I would think imbedding some chopped up toothpicks would work.
By the way, welcome to Dakka, enjoy your stay.

Sorry but what you mean with his "abs"?

This is not what I expected when I clicked a thread entitled "eat a tau miniature" and I'm very disappointed. I expected a contest or at the very least some dubious dietary advice

Sorry but i used the title to get more help as a too specific title

Well it's more a context thing, this is in the P&M forum, so it should be about painting and modeling. Also the use of capitalization in the title leads on to believe that "Eat a Tau" is a proper noun given that "miniature" is not capitalized.

Good luck with the miniature! As already said, you should be fine with regular Kroot body and green stuff.

Just out of curiosity, are you going to model the whole team?

No i dont want to model the whole team^^ because i did haven't any use for the others to play, skraat is my favourite character and i will use him as sly marbo in my imperial guard army^^

I actually started reading that comic not that long ago. Skraat is a regular kroot so you could use a pile of kroot bits. if you want to mix it up you could try and customize a kroot shaper.

If you wanted to go all out, GW does make an inquisitor scale (54MM) kroot merc... you could add a lot more detail.
