PDH wrote:WOW! That is a mental amount of tower. I want to play Lord of The Spyre scenario on that now! Have you sprayed it silver or does it come in that colour?
It comes in that color, it's just assembled, no glue, no paint.
As for play testing the terrain:
The games you are playing with normal 40k terrain: have you noticed people are reluctant to move models off the ground floor (except for heavys, snipers or a quick run up to get some loot)? If so how are you going to persuade them to go up that tower? While it is a beautiful centrepiece I do worry about its practicality. Sod that... I imagine its going to look amazing with the massive pipes and cables running down the middle.
One other thing you might want to consider with the tower is adding some mezzanine floors or platforms between levels. Eg if the gap between floors is 8" a model might need a handy place to stop at 4".
I think it is vitally important to have multi-levels in the deployment zones connecting to other buildings by walkways etc. That way you can start on various levels and move outwards, without wasting movement getting up there in the first place.
I agree, there is no use in multi level terrain if the buildings aren't interlinked and there are enough ladders and the likes. The plan is that the whole table has at least four floors, not counting ground level.
Persuading people to use higher levels? That's easy, the ground level is flooded with toxic fluids or hive dust, counts as very difficult terrain.
As for the NCE rules the clarifications are nice and I've always used the on fire rule anyway. I like the subtle changes to the territories too: eg vents allow you to place models on the top floor of buildings only (to make it in line with tunnels that allow you to deploy at ground level only).
There are sooooo many nice additions to the original rules, it becomes a completely different game, if you add all. I'm still rewriting the whole rulebook, to have everthing in on place.
BTW you know how you are always* complaining your sister is making you carry heavy stuff up and down stairs. My sister bought me 26 Necromunda Bulkheads, my sister is ace!
Let's trade sisters then! btw is your sister hot? I mean we're no relatives...

Most importantly I really cannot see my sister as hot. She is pretty but I just cannot see her as hot. I've just checked with her boyfriend and though he is biased he said yes she is hot. When asked how many camels she is worth he didn't get to answer before my sister hit him. So funny . Is your sister hot?
Wow your board sounds like its going to be amazing.
As to the additions to Necro I don't think it makes it a different game...just a clearer way of playing.

Why not... here you go, my little sister and her boyfriend last summer.
I'll delete the photo tomorrow, it's not wargame related, since both are completely unconverted and not in a 15-54mm scale. I just put it up to sooth your curiousity.

I'm not concentrating on the scenery, there will be plenty more miniature goodness along the way, I just need to get the core of the scenery done, so that we can have our next game after a break of several months.
Next thing on my to do list is painting the 11 Delaques I converted so far and finishing their leader. I also intend to make that Delaque doghandler mentioned some time ago.
At the same time there are a couple of conversions to finish for the miners, the leader, some gangers, another badass ogryn slave I started and so on.
To lift the stress from time to time I'll also delve back into working on the inquisitorial retinue and my true scale marine(s).
You see, there is plenty more to come. The scenery will be elemental, but a side project.

LOL... I obviously walked in the middle of something...
I totally missed the update on the running dual-wielding juve, but he looks damn cool with the braced-bolters. Amazing work, as always, Baiyuan. The skinny guns just didn't do him justice. I actually considered that model to be on the lower end, should I pick up that set of Heresy not-Delaques. If he came like that, honestly, he just shot to about #2 or #3 placement in terms of purchase.
And effin' sweet for the towers. I can't wait to see your games... please tell us you'll take pics and make "action" comics/battle reports out of them!

Our battle reports are text only and I'm afraid the games are complicated enough until the other get the hang of the rules, so I'm not planning on taking pictures of every turn. On the other hand, be assured that I'll be unable to resist taking a picture of our gangs in the scenery.
About the reports, every player writes his own in-character resume of the battles. So my leader reports to his client, the head of the revolution speaks to the population of the hive via political flyers, the mercenaries report to their superiors in a military fashion and the princess of house ko'iron, aka the spyrer bitch, writes her personal diary. All of these sources are then put together by Inquisitor Iudex Probitas, who sends them to his lord inquisitor, because there is an investigation of his operations going on.
I'll make sure to translate these some day and put them online.
Oh and HF thank you for the kind words, Versatilis seems all but forgotten in this clash of hot sisters.

About the reports, I'm flattered by your trust in my narrative abilities. I can't shake the feeling that my insufficient language skills get in the way of properly telling what I have in mind, so I'm especially happy to hear that you liked the backround for Nanus.
Peter when you said "run it through babel fish" did you mean that in a metaphorical Douglas Adams way, or did you mean actually running it through an online translater. If so, I just tried it, it's a complete mess.
There are some people who'd say my style of writing in german is a bit strange and old fashioned, and the translater came up with such incoherent and incomprehensible rumbling, it doesn't make sense. I didn't get my on meaning reading the translation! So I'll have to do it by hand.

Nonsense, Baiyuan. If you have a question about any fantasy writing/grammar/vocab, let us know via PM. I also enjoy writing fluff, and yours is just as good, if not better than the stuff I came up with in my (sadly now defunct ) =I=Munda thread found on my sig.
You write in solid English, but your flag flips from German/American, so I'm confused (maybe you, maybe Dakka site doing it?)... not meaning to pry, by any means.
Yea, Nanus- great miniature with an equally good primer. Hats off to this entire thread. You're stirring the =I=Munda fire in me again... (and I mean that in the most platonic way possible... aha ha ha haha) My X-men.. er, =I=Men never saw the field before the project fell out... but perhaps... just maybe... Looks like that is going to be an incredibly enviable table when you're done - I would probably do bad things to get hold of it already, and you've barely started! Nanus looks fantastic too - I really like the armoured vest, and the work on the weapons is, as always, impeccable. Totally worth the wait!
