Anyone know if it will be sold in local newsagents and supermarkets?

I'm pretty much delirious over this, white dwarf disappearing was a dark time for me and my favourite money spinning hobby. If they return to drawn covers I think I would actually weep. Was never a fan of the photoshopped models.

Hopefully they don't start adding rules to these things again. It's already bad enough how spread out and hard to find they can all be.

Cover mounts, To4G, Batreps, Rules... it's almost like the new WD crew have taken notice of what the most-wanted/missed and requested features of the mag were.

Someone else mentioned a proper painting guide? The return of proper 'eavy Metal instead of Paint Splatter?

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Well, I'm already regretting the three month tester sub - AoS Tale, AoS battle rep, AoS cover model, and rules for boxed games I don't play.

No word if Blanchitsu has survived, and so far it seems the only 40K "content" we'll be getting is a look back at releases we'll have already seen on the website.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

On the plus side you can flog the cover mounts to attempt to recoup some losses.

If these WDs resell as well as the Visions I no longer had use for you may even make more than the sub price. I was eBaying them for less than the cover price but more than my sub.

Additionally there appears to be some content for those with more varied taste within the GW games systems.

It is a 160 page magazine. What we have seen so far covers 30 pages at most. At the very least it will have Kharn and his campaign book info. It is also highly probable that the second months battle report will be for 40k.

I think complaining that WD is going to have AoS content is a bit on the petty side.

As is complaining that the WD will have content for 9 different boxed games that have been released in the last year or so and freebie cover mounts.

And also "AoS Tale, AoS battle rep, AoS cover model...".

Y'know back in the old days there were WD issues that contained heaps of Warhammer Fantasy stuff and basically no 40K stuff. Guess what I did with those issues? I didn't buy 'em! And getting a magazine subscription when you so actively dislike half of what a company does seems kinda silly to me, almost like pre-ordering a game sight unseen. Just buy the issues you want and forget the rest.

Gives you more of an opportunity to complain?

I guess the next step is to complain about Kharn and his CSM mates providing the 40k content when you're only interested in SoB or Black Templars or summat.

I'm only interested in Epic content so I get to complain most guys.

How dare GW cover GW products in a GW magazine, the cheek of it.

Odd they're including Space Hulk in the list of games to be covered.

Unless they're going to finally do the sensible thing and make Space Hulk generally available.

Surprised there's no Dreadfleet coverage though

I think Azazelx was using the generic you, rather than the specific you.

As everybody knows though when you are a seriously bitter person the thing you need to do is actually spend your money on something that you hate so that you can complain more efficiently about it

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Ah yes, I forgot, you can't just be disappointed or regretful here, you must be compaining/whinging/moaning/hating blah blah blah.

I thought £12 was worth a punt to see if the new WD was any good. I subsequently stated my provisional opinion on that based on the info we have so far. My god, I am a monster *sarcastic eyeroll gif goes here*

Oh stop it. This has nothing to do with that, and throwing that ol' chestnut as a 'get out of my silly statements for free' card won't work on me.

As I said, correctly, complaining that WD will cover AoS is folly. Of course it's going to cover AoS, it's one of GW's main product lines, and when I saw issues covering mostly Fantasy back in the day I skipped them because they didn't interest me. I didn't buy them sight unseen and then complain about it afterwards. I looked at what I was buying before I bought it, as everyone should.

I think people probably thought you were just being a little bit over the top dude. We've not had the first magazine in hand yet, let alone all three of those 3 you've paid for. White Dwarf always see sawed between Fantasy and 40k coverage, I've got a box sat next to me of 90s WD and it's very much always been the case that some months they covered one game more than the other.

That being said, I'd have thought they'd have gone for a more even coverage for the first issue....BUT we don't know that they haven't. Look at all the 40k stuff in the boxed games they are covering, we don't know what those rules entail, or those articles.

I'm still keeping an open mind and looking forward to it.

I think complaining is more of that first issue is very heavy on AOS with not much for 40k. So 40k fans have currently pretty much zero reason to buy it.

AOS tale. AOS BR. WHAT 40k content there is supposed to be?

This is why I don't subscribe to it. Going to be almost certainly too many months without useful content. If it was 50-50 fine but if it's AOS with maybe one 40k article why would I buy it?

AOS tale of 4 gamer is useless for me. Free miniature would go straight to trashbin. BR is useless for me. So far there's not been much in form of 40k articles being mentioned...Nevermind are they actually worth paying for.

Nooi not even all but. GW rep apparently specifically mentioned that mini to an FLGS owner around here as a reason to get a bunch of that issue.

It funny really. I am expecting the first issue to be mostly about 40k. Kharn is on the cover. I am hoping for interviews about Deathwatch and Deathmasque. The AOS hobby articles seem deliberately chosen to make up for the 40k focus of the issue.
