Basically the title says it. Anyone have any experience taking a newer style rhino and converting it to a vindicator using the old metal bits? Is there a good how-to guide out there? And most importantly, does it look good ?

Pretty sure GW actually had an article back when the MKIIC rhino came out, specifically doing just that. Admittedly I haven't the foggiest where to find that now, but clearly it is do-able.

yeah it looks like Im gonna be doing a test run to figure it out. sadly all my SM tanks from 2nd edition are beat to hell and need to be redone. and i want to retain that old style look with my Carcharodons.

Forge World is your friend if you want that retro look with the current chassis.

yeah except fw doesn't have a retro style vindi. thinking of buying the fw rhino kits and converting them with my old vindi's bits.

It can be done. I did it. I'll have to dig my vindicator out of storage (I stopped playing 40k last year) to get pics, and I can't do it this weekend.

You will need to level out the front plate (viewport) as the old gun piece required a more flat piece to be glued to.

I put almost all of the pieces onto the new hull (didn't use two of the side armour panels), and had to use sprue and GS to fill some of the larger gaps (the side armour panels were designed to go down to the side running boards - the current rhino is taller).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

It can be done. But I'm pretty sure it would be less work to just pick up an old rhino from ebay, striping it, and throwing the parts onto it.
