I am still deciding myself; if you know then let me know why you made your choice below.

As with many of your other random Eldar polls the 'none of the above' option is sorely missed.

The point is that you have to choose one.
If you don't use them then just don't reply.

Artillery is T7 this edition and for Eldar it does not cost that much so there is a case to be made that they can be used successfully. This thread is a call out to see who uses what pieces of artillery, why they use them, and how they use them.

(Shadow weavers) While I do agree that they arn't an optimal choice, they are far from worthless. Hell 90 points for 12x t7 wounds for guarding your farseer is hard to beat, throw in a Embolden warlock and this unit isn't gonna be shifted by anything that isn't CC. You can also use them as cheap cover, and 3 str6 barrage blasts isn't bad for snipeing things either or hitting the side of things like Chimeras. Also worth keeping in mind that with a warlock they'll be hitting at BS4, and you'r opponent will pretty much have to inflict 6 wounds before it has any effect on the Unit's preformance. all this cheaper then my normal 10man Guardian squad.
That being said, they are competing in the crowded Heavy slot, and as such is fairly far down the list of what i'd normally take.

If I'm not going to a tournament then I usually take the Distortion Cannon option. It's only drawback is range. If I am going to a tournament then I pick the Vibro Cannon option and take three of them to kill every vehicle in the game. But I play where Forge World is allowed and we also play above 2k points so I have plenty of options available for Heavy Support.

"Khorne is a noble warrior who respects strength and bravery, who takes no joy in destroying the weak, and considers the helpless unworthy of his wrath. It is said that fate will spare any brave warrior who calls upon Khorne's name and pledges his soul to the blood god. It is also said that Khorne's daemons will hunt down and destroy any warrior who betrays his honour by killing a helpless innocent or murdering in cold blood..."

I like the D-cannon for the 24 inch no go zone for my opponent as between that and dark reaper exarch with a tempest launcher nobody wants to come close.
The vibro cannon is pretty good for the glancing hits however the FAQ that it does not hit flyers and that it is only 1 auto glancing hit per squad means that it is only feasible in a squad of 1. So I guess you could take 3 x 1 of them for 3 instant glancing hits however I think I would rather have the D-cannons or another heavy choice.

I love my dcannons, its funny i loved the gun in 5th but it was soooo hard to justify putting in a list with the old rules. I swear when 6th came out that was the first thing i went digging for was to see the new artillary ruleset and i was so happy. Now i feild them in at least 50% of my games, thier pretty inaccurite especially fired indirectly (which is ideal so they can be picked off by plasma blasts ect. But i try and keep guide/prescience close to get those rerolls
I just ran a game yesterday and they were amazing as always, i poped a vehicle with a brightlance and my enemies command squad was in there... they come piling out all clumped up, i had prescience on my dcannons and got 2 direct hits caused something like 11 wounds and he had 6 guys including his hq, vaporized the whole squad.
i play them with a gunline style and it acts like a zone of destruction that the enemy does not want to pass into.
only part that i dont like is if i go first they sit for a turn i usually just move them 6 to setup shop in a bit better possitioning pushing that buble closer to midfield to force thier hand.
