There seems to be a lot of stuff on the Painting & Modelling Blog section. It's awesome, but I think that it's too messy.

What I propose are separate forums for the blogs. They could be in the relevant game's section. It would be easier if I wanted to find, say, a Khador or Lizardmen blog and not have to wade through all the 40k ones (impressive though they may be).

The problem with this, and ANY subforum idea is that overall each subforum would pull far less traffic than a standard P&M blogs section.

A second issue you face is the smaller games that have fewer players (this goes back to the less traffic idea). There is a VERY small Malifaux community on Dakka, and the malifaux subforum gets very little traffic as it is, so a painting section of that would get even less (as not everyone posts what they paint on dakka).

Third, not everyone just does 40k blogs. Yes the majority of them will just be a single game, but if you look at mine: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/436407.page

It's very clearly a Khador blog in name and first post, but I quickly switch to Skorne and Brushfire (a completely separate game). Yes I could make separate threads, but at the same time my blog gets little traffic (I haven't posted pics in awhile). and i I were to stop painting my Skorne, that thread would get 0 traffic as it would fall off the face of the first page due to other projects/threads.

And finally, the search function is always improving, so there should never really be concern about trying to find what you're looking for.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

It would be nice if you could tag blogs in the same way that you can tag gallery images, and then search/filter based on those tags.

However, with the current system I agree with Alfndrate.

The search function looks at titles first and lists by them. Say you go into the P&M Blogs and look for "Orks" you'll get thread titles...

Also Ctrl+f is also an option

I think that some of the people that paint primarily smaller games don't post their blogs in the painting forum, but post it in the game sub-forum anyway.

I know for me I also fall under the "painting all kinds of stuff" category, and I have 40K, WFB, Infinity, and Warmachine in my blog.

Yeah, mine is a mix from time to time as well including stuff I make myself...

40k seems the way to go to generate more traffic. Splitting the board would see that one get the mediocre traffic the entire section gets with the rest being more or less dead.
