I am going to be running this list against a guy who plays Mantis Warriors an will prolly be coming with 2 Land Raiders an 2 Storm Talons, debating on keeping the Exterminator it might be useful in shooting down the Talons, but I am debating adding cloaks to the sniper vets, a master of ordinance, an a DA Vindicator.

Any suggestions would be helpful, I used this list against an Eldar player who ran 3 large war walkers and a big unit of Wraithguard and it worked really well.

I feel like you might have a hard time dealing with another, more varied, IG unit or Tau to be honest. I feel like you put a whole lot of pressure on the Vendettas to carry the day here. The demolishers are a great choice. . . but they don't have the range to be threatening at distance engagements. I think it would be very easy to out-shoot this list espeicailly if you faced an army using skyfire units.

Other than that this list will probably win you games on a very close field.

I'm curious to hear the outcome with the Mantis Warriors.

Actually he came with nurgle marines, and he pulled out the win, he was able to get a lucky shot on turn 1 wrecking one of my Demolishers and I had to wait till turn 4 to get the Melta vet vendetta in, the game went through turn 7 if it had ended sooner and I had hid my CCS a little better I would have pulled it out or we would have tired. He dropped both of my heavy weapons teams on turn 1.

Plague marines are a b*tch I sent waves of terminators into them and they just mowed them down.

Wow crazy. got to watch 2 csm games with extermly varied themes t sons vs nid mc heavy and nurgle vs tau.
Nurgle seems rough for sure.
if you can find points get a defence line with w quad gun. A 30 man squad and a 10 man. set the line up infront of your deployment zone. also get the tanks camo netting and park em behind the defence line.

Overview of the WoC army book.

I agree with cowpow, a defence line would definately give you some much-needed cover against some of the nastier weapons.

I still think that you should get a Lehman Russ with a standard battle cannon in on this. Or maybe even a basilisk or Manticore. Give your templates some range.

Well I don't really like posting up behind a line, I tried to get the sniper vets an the CCS into good cover, the helldrake flew in an cooked the sniper vets it kinda sucked, also with night fighting in affect he got really really lucky with his hellbrute with TL lascannon he hit my demolisher on turn 1 penned it an exploded it an I failed a lousy 2+ cover save. If I could have brought that 2nd demolisher cannon to bear on the plague marines the game would have turned out very differently.

Also I do not like mysterious terrain an I don't think I wanna use them anymore, I usually have horrendous luck, the game going through turn 7 when I would have won on turns 5 or 6 is a perfect example. I like getting as many twin linked weapons into my army as I can.

I wish there wasn't so much flak for Vendettas, I have a 3rd one still in the box an unless I play in an Apoc game I don't think I will put it together. If the 2nd one had come in on turns 2 or 3 the game also might have turned out differently. I had the astropath an still rolled 1s for that 2nd vendetta on turns 2 an 3. The one that did get in, took out the drake, a forgefiend, and 2 terminators among others, it performed amazingly.

Now when you say flak, do you mean in terms of "flak missiles" and general anti-aircraft? Or do you mean people complaining about them?

They're amazing units, but contrary to belief they don't win games - as you saw. People will always bitch about something that's under-costed, but with the arrival of the heldrake (175pts if I recall) the vendetta doesn't look so under-costed any more, so I doubt there'll ever be a change in that.
On the topic of AA - you'll see a lot of it. The best way to counter it is to mix up your lists occasionally. Take a list with fliers one time, take a list with heavy armour the next. Metas shift relatively fast, my FLGS has moved to the "SPAM FLIERS!" which I find rather draining, but when I bring more Russes and no fliers, my opponents' AA is laughably pointless. Although dealing with 2 or 3 enemy fliers is hard without my own, it's possible to just ignore them.
Not to mention - it's more fun to mix up your list than just doing the same thing over and over.

All in all,not came down to some bad luck an tactical mistakes on my part though, I believed the remnants of my CCS were safe until some plague marines butchered my terminators an shot them through windows, death wings small numbers really is a downside to them, if the Demolishers go, their is no way to deal with large units or worse horde armies.

In this particular game battle cannons wouldn't have helped me, they wouldn't have hurt the terminators, an the plague marines still had FNP. Watching him make FNP saves against thunder hammers was particularly frustrating.

If anything I remove the exterminator with BS 3 it's just not that reliable and going against marines which I do 75% of the time it doesn't negate those armour saves. It's good for popping light armour but because of first blood lots of guys I play against are starting to go all foot infantry to not give up a first blood on turn 1. That's what made losing that Demolisher all the more painful on turn 1

I agree, I've just not gotten my mileage out of the 170pts exterminator. I've just changed it to a vanilla russ and with the left over 20pts I put camo-netting on my Executioner to keep that points sink a little more survivable.
