Just for list construction! Basically a buddy of mine is getting out the hobby and has sent me over 800 dollars of Dark Elves for the low price of 100.00 USD!

But i digress. I've been at this a couple of hours and could really use some fresh set of eyes. The goal of the list is to be strong but not cheesy! I'm running a Pendant Lord, but in a unit of cold ones and does not have the Stubborn Crown There are no hydras, there isn't a dagger and i'm even using the Lore of Metal haha.


John, I’ve been at this for a couple hours, I think I might have created a pretty solid dark elf list that is NOT cheesy I really need a fresh set of eyes on this thing. I’m currently 92pts over at 2500… It seems like its either the harpies or the master bsb. I could drop the Master and make the cauldron the BSB. I guess I could then drop a single cold one knight but I’m afraid it won’t be super combat effective… but if I do that I’d have 95pts left over which I could wiggle with to gain a chariot or something… damn decisions!

So that's the list i'd like to run, however its 92pts over! It seems i can either take my Master BSB OR the 2 units of harpies ( i had orginally designed the list without them, but with the amount of warmachines i'm expecting, i feel i really need the extra support to get into my opponents back field quickly and with gusto...)

So it looks like the Master has got to get gone, which is a bummer because i am a fan of cavalry buses haha. I have considered an executioners horde because it seems like it'd be a lot of fun and wouldn't be too OTT.

That list would look like this:

I could be wrong, but the Cauldron BSB is 225pts no? You have it listed as 200...
Actually, first list you have the BSB listed twice. I guess the actual one is on the Master going by the points and what you said lol

3 units of Dark Riders is 2 too many. You'd be better off with 2 units of 10 RXB's instead.

And for Executioners to be anything close to useful they NEED to be 40+ and have the ASF banner.

In the first list drop the master and make the CoB the BSB.

In the second list, drop the Hag, give the banner to the executioners, and make the CoB the BSB.

You can't take the AsF banner on the executioners without a BSB. They have. 25pt limit

I'm thinking dropping the dreadlord in the second list and bringing in a level 2 with tome of furion and dark magic. Gives her 4 spells. Problem is she doesn't bring a whole lot to the table for magic defense. Id then have 90 points to add more executioners or more harpies

Take the peg lord, a level 4 on shadow, a CoB BSB, and a level 2 on fire/metal. Those are the best lord/hero options currently in the book. There is a peg hero, but if you have the lord, you don't need him.

A few level 1 wizards with lore of shadows makes executioners awesome.
At WS5 with a cauldron, all you need is a Miasma to go off and most opponents are hitting them on 5's, and they've got a 5+ armor and 5+ ward (from cauldron). It's pretty solid staying power. Then when they swing with 21-30 S6 killing blow attacks hitting 3+ with re-rolls, it will just carve up the enemy.

But i was 65pts over... i suppose its a pretty easy swap to take out a unit of harpies and drop a crossbow.
