Hi, I'm michael. and i want to get into warhammer but dont know what the different races specialize in. i was think imperial guard but people say it takes alot of $$$ which i dont have right now, so if you have and suggestions on a cheap good or decent army id love to hear them, and if i know the different armys strengths and weaknesses it will help me make a more suited decision of what army to pick based on my playing style and budget

Guard can get expensive, if you're looking for the army which requires the least financial investment then you could consider Grey Knights.

I think Space marines would be a good option, they're not that expensive and pretty good all around the battlefield.

Orks are great. You have so many conversion oppurtunities with them, that's why I love them. And they are fun Read some tactics articles about them if you're interested, and have a look at my blog (the link's in my signature)

Hi, why dont you pick up something like the dark vengeance box set. You get two small armys to get you started ( chaos warband and a dark angels space marine battleforce ) you also get all the rules etc to play the game.

Theres the warhammer one. Or you might be able to get hold of an assault on black reach box ( space marines and orks) but the rules are the old ones. There are also plenty of other game systems out there to try but i am not familiar with them yet as i am a returning noob.

The dark vengeance box set is around 65 gbp not sure what that is in cad. Good amount of minis for the cash.
