Need some help finding some pieces for a conversion i have in mind. I want to make my CSM tanks for my thousand sons legion look like they have anti grav units on the bottom. I was thinking about taking a clear or blue colored plastic globe about 3/4" in diameter but i'm having a difficult time finding something suitable online or in my local hobby and hardware stores. If anyone has a web site that they have seen something that would work i would be grateful for any info you can provide me.
Depending on what you are after specifically - you also have dozens of sizes and materials to choose from for the plastic floats to control evaporation and fumes on chemical baths:
What about hacking up the underside of a Land Speeder? They have nice textured bases for antigraviness. You can also get textured plasticard that you can do up as grav-plates, like my Diamondback conversion:
Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
And painting it in a glowing way can help add to the effect. I'd also say make custom flight bases for these so they don't hover too high off the ground. It'd add to the effect that they don't actually fly, but just use something else to replace the tracks as they're still not skimmers and it'd help avoid any annoying arguments that may crop up later. Be sure to post pictures of it in progress and when completed though, it's something I've thought of once myself so I'm quite interested to see how it pans out.
