Simply what is the better option for Meph in a Stormraven?
In my list I need him to fill the role of assassin/counter anything that isn't TH-termies. Also given the next tourney he is expected to face the forces of chaos and crons.
Codex powers give him the nice versatility of mobility (32" potential charge with wings/storm), tank popping with str 10 hits and UR if needed.
Biomancy while random has access to rules of IWND, FNP, ET, and other buffs that make him a better combatant if he is stuck with a tough unit, worse case the primaries powers from Biomancy and divination ain't bad. One final benefit it that the buffs here last a whole game round meaning less perils risk.
Given the Stormraven do I go for a riskier but potentially more durable/slow/killy Meph, or keep the reliable quicker variation?
*local meta/judge has ruled that Meph can use 3 powers till FAQ

There is the risk that the raven won't come in until Turn 4, but Mephy on a raven is scary. Also, remember that he can't cast psychic powers on the turn he comes in, at least not those that need to be cast at the beginning of the turn.
I'd say give him Biomancy. He can be evil with particular biomancy powers like Iron Arm, Warp Speed and Endurance....all at the same time! And biomancy can get him up to S9 anyways (S10 with furious charge). The extra +D3 attacks from Warp Speed can off-set the re-rolls to hit, and he's also getting Eternal Warrior, FNP and/or regen with book powers, not to mention T9. Overall, the book powers make him incredibly nasty.

He only gets 2 powers when he switched to BRB powers though doesn't he? Which kinda defeats the point of taking Mephiston in the first place imho. I'd stick with Codex powers personally.

You are right. I didn't check the FAQ. Still though, I would take the gamble for the book powers assuming I had a ride for Mephiston. They are just that good. Though if I didn't have a way for getting Mephiston into action quickly, then I would stick with the codex powers for Wings of Sanguinius.

The 2-3 power thing is something I could go either way on and would not be butthurt if it's FAQ'd to 2 period. But for the sake of this discussion (and my local area) its 3 powers for the moment.
