Kharn The Betrayer

I been told that Kharn the Betrayer is not a good General in an army because he does not have terminator armor, but why is that? Stick him with a unit of Berzerkers and his 3+ save does not matter when it comes to shooting.

Kharn in challenge (yeah he has to throw challenge and accept challenges) he don't have a 2+ save so most power weapon ignore his armor save, but his attack are AP 2, and they go on Initiative 5. With a WS of 7 his opponent will probably need 4+ to hit him. he needs 2+ to hit him, of course he does kill berzerkers on role of 1, but oh well. he don't have eternal warrior, but he does have a 2+ ignore force weapon instant kill, and a 2+ deny the witch roll. He also does good at destroying vehicles too, on the charge he is Str 7 with 2d6 armor pentiration, so he can even knock out landraiders on a good roll.

Whoever told you kharn wasn't good is high on something. He just like the past codex is the best character points/performance

Oh and also you attaching him to termies sounds like a better option since any ap3 shot he can LoS on 2+ so that the termies just save them on 2+ as well, and while in challenges kharn should really avoid challenges with lowly characters and destroy the rest of the unit, a termie champion ensures a power weapons doesn't get lucky and wound him

If the fact that a model does not have a 2+ save is enough to deter you or convince you that a model/unit/guy is bad on the table, then learn the game first, it's not all about the stats, it's about the size of your gun/weapon/tank/flier.

Kharn is more or less the best melee HQ in the book, and giving hatred to his unit means you kill more enemy stuff and less of your stuff.

With the addition of his Hatred: Everything! rule, Kharn went from being a mean but risky close-combat character to just straightup mean. Yes, there will be alot of models who get past his 3+ armor, but he will be doing plenty of damage back to them in most cases.

Of course, I run Abaddon, so he wouldn't do so good against me :p

I loved Kharn then his Axe became I1 and I got sad, then the new book came out and he became better than ever!

There are have been several epic showdowns between Kharn and our resident Slaanesh Prince since the new book... guess who the new boss is?

Don't worry about the 3+ armor save, just make sure he is in a unit of something (I like running him with big group of cultists). Besides, Kharn is the incarnation of the phrase "the best defense is a good offense".

Kharn will reliable kill anything he comes across in most cases. Its a erson I never leave home without him
