Over the weekend I played in the NEWCC; the format was doubles games, with a four man team. Much like the Adepticon Team Tournament, you had a four person team and each round a different pair of you would play a doubles match (all possible pairings expressed over three rounds), and had a modified limited force org. Each person had to take an HQ and two Troops, but Troops maxed out at 3 slots, and each other slot was 0-1. Of the four players, one could take an extra Troop, one an extra Elite, one an extra FA and one an extra Heavy. I got the extra HS.

I ran:

Rune Priest with Jaws & Lightning (rides w/9 GH)
Rune Priest on Bike with Jaws & Stormcaller (leads wolves)
9 Grey Hunters w/Flamer, Wolf Standard, Power Axe, Rhino
10 GH w/2x melta, Wolf Standard, Power Axe, Rhino
10 GH w/plasma, melta, Wolf Standard, Power Sword, Rhino
15 Fenrisian Wolves
5 Long Fangs w/4x Missile Launchers
5 Long Fangs w/2x Lascannons, 1x Missile, 1x Plasmacannon

I enjoyed the list. Lots of bodies and good speed; nice amount of both assault and shooting. The wolves + bike character was definitely fun and something I'd enjoy trying again at some point, though probably with a WGBL or Wolf Lord to make it harder-hitting. Or maybe a Wolf Priest, even.

Leadership is not great, though. I might have been better off, honestly, dropping two or all three of the Rhinos for Wolf Guard to lead the squads; possibly in terminator armor. A Drop Pod could also be a good inclusion.

"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime."Leman Russ

Oh the irony of using Dark Angels to represent Wolves.

How did the Fenrisian wolves work out for you? I like the idea of putting a biker accompanying them and I've never had the balls to run them since they're so squishy.

Also, how did the rhinos do? I know a lot of people dislike them, but I still like them despite using drop pods almost exclusively recently.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

Fallen Angels, actually.

The Fenrisian wolves were fun; fast moving and dirt cheap for how hard they hit. Having Move Through Cover means they can use terrain for maximizing their cover saves. They are a bit fragile, especially if the priest dies. While he's alive, though, Ld10 and ATSKNF are awesome.

The Rhinos were okay; Wolf Guard in terminator armor might be better.

I have been crafting up some 1250 lists for similar purposes. i have been using adl with qd gun or iclsc. seems pretty solid. Dudes on foot work so well.especially with the defense line.

try 2 5 man ml units with rp being able to take divination makes them pretty painful.
hb are pretty solid too i have had great success with them.
