As stated above i'm just curious as to which Battalion Box is the best in terms of money and in point value?
Thanks in advance

Ogres and Warriors of Chaos generally get the nod but also mention my favorites
Beastmen still sub $100, is it the only one left that is still running the prices from 2-3 years ago? 2 boxes is a pretty darn good start for an army.
Dwarfs you can basically have an army out of the box with this, a block of 32 great weapon warriors, a cannon and 16 quarrellers, if you have the dwarf end of a BFSP set you got a good start on the Stunties

The Dwarf box and Empire box are great values. 2 of the Dwarf ones and you have a good size army. 3-4 of the Empire box and you have a decent army as well (minus the great weapon knights). Ogres are by far the best one whats even better is that Ogres are easy to convert.

The only thing I don't like about the Ogre box is I liked the one before the latest release slightly more, you basically traded $35 worth of gnoblars for $20 worth of Ogres and they increased the price by $20, makes great sense!

However, Gnoblars arn't that great in the new book. And they arn't mandatory like they were before. Plus you can make those 2 extra bodies into characters.
Not to mention you can actually get quite a few gnoblars out of a box of ogres. pack gnoblars and look out gnoblar can be used as regular gnoblars if you have bases.
With a pack of GW bases, you can get a unit of gnoblars without paying for a box of gnoblars.

Yeah having got the new battalion box Ogres definitely, loss of gnoblars sucks but they give you 2 irongut sprues so you can effectively make 8 ironguts or 10 with musician/bellower, for a right out of the box you can get a good sized Irongut unit, a unit of 3-4 leadbelchers and a unit of 3 bulls add a Butcher/SM/Firebelly and you have an out of the box legal army army well near 1k if not over.

Ogre Kingdoms- Good enough that there is no reason to buy bulls or Ironguts on their own. Ironguts? Unit of 10 is about $120, and you get a half-dozen other models, to use as bulls and/or leadbelchers. From a $135 battalion. Bulls? About $128, so a $7 loss, but you get a whole bunch of bits to use next time you want to add one of the other units to your army. Even leadbelchers you might want to get this way, and just save the other models for when you need them.

I like the Dark Elves box, it provides a good selection of useful units and gets you almost everything you need for a proper MSU DE army right off the bat.

How do Brettonians rate? KotR and a Pegasus Knight/Paladin plus a bunch of archers/men at arms.

The old bretonnian box was Great, but the current one is pretty poor. The new one is 10$ less but its 1 Pegasus Knight instead of 3. 16 M@A, 16 Peasant Bowmen w/ defensive stakes, and then 8 KotR. You save about 20$ with the current box, the old one was nearly 50-60$US in savings. With that said I got an Old Battalion box a few weeks ago off ebay with the 3 knights for 85$.

10k+ High Elf
6.5k Dwarf
7k Original Chaos Dwarf (not the crappy forge world)
6k Bretonnia
7k Wood Elf
6k Dark Elf
8k Tomb Kings
5k Beastmen
5k Lizardmen
7k Daemons of Chaos (roughly 2.5k all but Tzeentch, I find them useless in 8th other than flamers and heralds)
5.5k Empire
