So I have been looking into a new army for awhile and I am leaning towards Eldar now. I read the fluff in IA11 for Corsair Eldar and it is really cool. My only concern is this: Do I need to get a Corsair Conversion Kit for every model?

No, the conversion kit is enough for a squad of 10. Includes Jump pack, lasblaster, and head and a couple of felarch bits.

I guess what I meant was does every model need corsair bits to use the list? For example, can I just use regular unconverted jetbikes as Corsair Jetbikes? Also, is the Corsair Venom the same kit as the DE Venom? Sorry for all the questions lol

Technically, yes. You could use a shoe as a venom. But both will count as a proxy until properly modeled, and some players have problems playing with proxies.

That depends. The corsair conversion kit gives you the guns and jump packs used by the infantry, and so they're necessary for your models to be WYSIWYG. Using unmodified standard Eldar infantry would not be WYSIWYG because they'd be missing very important parts of their equipment. A corsair Falcon, on the other hand, is identical (equipment-wise) to the standard one, so using an unmodified Falcon kit would be WYSIWYG. So, the only way to answer the question is to write your list and then figure out which units require the upgrade kit to include all of their equipment.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Thanks, this is what I was looking for. I do like the idea of a FW army where only part of the army is FW lol

Somewhere in the dark...

Also, the corsairs heavy weapons upgrade actually comes with 4 guardian models. So you get the models, a flamer, fusion gun, shuricannon and eml plus the heads and jump packs. Corsairs dont actually have to use jump packs either so normal guardians will work just fine ( if you want a dedicated transport they cant have the jump packs anyway). Just remember, a standard unit has a close combat weapon so proxying with storm guardians would be more wysiwyg. But corsairs are weak in cc so may as well give them shuriken catapults anyway. The jetbikes are a little more difficult since corsairs riders have a pistol and ccw. The normal eldar jetbike guys have a pistol in a holster so to be totally wysiwyg you' d need to put some kind of weapon in one hand so just grab some bits from the da sprue if you have those. There are lots of ccw in those.

Bumping rather than reposting as it is not too old a thread... how many of the lasblasters come in the regular Corsair conversion kit? Is it 10? I ask as the picture on the FW website does not show all of the Corsairs using lasblasters.

Yes 10. You are also allowed 1 special weapon per 5 I believe. Shurikin Cats are also an option. I believe they are showing the felarch with pistol and power weapon.

Thanks for the confirmation, glad you get the full 10 as that's what I want!
