Hi Guys,

Just wondering if you could suggest some carry cases suited for Warmachine minatures. I'm coming from 40K so i do have cases but i would prefer to keep them for my 40K army.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I use battle foam and a military pelican case. It's water proof, shock proof, and really sturdy otherwise.

Expensive? the case sounds interesting and sturdy which would be ideal for carrying them on bike.

I use a Portable Warfare Sergeant. It fits my entire Khador collection so far. It also fits Sabol trays, which is part of the reason I got it - I had several trays already.

When I go to the LGS, I usually only bring one faction, and see no need to bring my entire miniature collection with me. The current plan is to get enough trays to hold my Khador and my Circle, and then just switch out trays as needed.

A lot of people will recommend Battlefoam - if you can afford it, more power to you. I went with Portable Warfare because an empty bag was $40 instead of the $90 or so for an empty Battlefoam.

I had a quick look at them earlier and the only question i had was wether or not their foam was easy to pull out and give a good finish.

Mine is kinda a hybrid, cheap version. I have battlefoam foam and I use a plastic tub that I got at Walmart for $5 that a put my foam in. Works great but looks like crap.

I have Sabol trays, and the foam is pretty easy to tear out. I haven't yet noticed paint chipped off my minis or anything from being pulled out of the foam.

Sizes - I use 3" trays for warjacks, that seems to work really well for my Khador jacks(I have the older metal ones). For infantry I'm currently using 1.5" trays, but I may switch to 1" trays. I got the 1.5" because I stand the models up in their trays, instead of laying them down.

Right now I'm using a plain old sabol case and a nice toolbox with custom foam that is very much like a kr case. I'm not satisfied with these since my collection has grown so large but I don't think the normal battlefoam case is large enough either. I may go looking for a large pelican case as The Foot seems to have and load it with custom foam.

It's a pity that they aren't just a little bigger so i could reuse my citadel trays.

KR Multicase.

They are cheap, the foam is very soft and protects my models.

KR do supply backpacks

I'm probably one of the few people who has used both battlefoam and KR cases. As such, I prefer to have my standard models in the Warmachine Battle Foam case and use the KR for large, non-standard shaped models.

Battlefoam have done a great job with their warmachine bag. It holds plenty of supplies that I seem to have aquired to play the game and it is very rare to find a model that won't fit in a slot. That said, the whole "soft foam, hard case" of KR is good and their modularity system works very well.

Have a look at the options, they will all work well. Just one might suit your personal circumstances better than the others.

Im liking both but I am leaning closer to the battle foam as I've seen guys at my local store with them.

I own about 4 Sabol Platoon cases for my WM/H armies. I used to enjoy carrying my entire army around until it got to be too unwieldy. These days, through a bit of planning, you can easily fit 50 points into a Platoon case. 2x Platoon cases if you want some flexibility.

The only knock I have against Sabol is that they are a bit succeptable to crush damage... but that's normal for soft sided cases.

I am using aluminim cases from harbor Frieght that I got for about $25-30 bucks. They have pluck and pull foam so you can customize it. They are sweet, but apparently no longer being carried. I also have a couple old GW carrying cases, but they transport figs only. Warjacks don't really fit.

I did find something very similar on Amazon for about $40

http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-ZE-HC36-Medium-Hard-Case/dp/B001HJTK5Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351525792&sr=8-1&keywords=zeikos+aluminum+case

Other stores have similar ones, in the $50-60 range.

I have heard rumors that walmart has a Plano Protector with pluck and pull foam for the $10-20 range. I found one on their website, but could not tell what kind of foam it has.

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Plano-Protector-Series-Four-Pistol-Case/16662942 If it is the right one, then it is cheaper than most solos/warcasters! I have to go to my local Walmart and check it out.

Otherwise look for gun and camera cases. Possibly tool cases as well.

You can find some nice stuff and it will be much cheaper than things like battlefoam.

You can also buy aluminum cases and then just buy 1-2" foam from the local craft store and cut it yourself. But I found that to be a real pain and not much cheaper than the pluck and pull cases.
