I have been playing against my friends Tau army. I Keep getting owned by overwatch with my Khorne Berzerkers. Is there any way to stop this? he plays pretty straight forward no stealth or infiltrators. 2 tanks with icon cannons, Hq squad of battle suits. All other tactical advice would help too.

My army is generally
Sorcerer (HQ)
-8 Thousand Sons ( troops)
Kharn The Betrayer (HQ2)
- 6 Khorne Berzerkers (troops)
Helbrute (elite1 with plasma cannon)
Obliterators x2 (heavy 1 deep striking)
Obliterators x2 (heavy 2 deep striking)
Obliterators x2 (heavy3)

Extra models i have are: 5 chosen, 20 cultists, 1 helbrute, 5 Raptors/Warp talons (not assembles), 1 chaos lord Karanon, Ahriman, And one box of CSM not assembled.

Dude, you need more bodies. Small assault units without some sort of transport don't work that well, because they get shot up like crazy when you run across the field. I'm not an expert on Chaos, but my first instinct would be to drop the Hellbrute and possibly one of the squad of obliterators to get more bodies.

if you're charging in with a small unit, he doesn't need that to roll that many 6s to get lucky and take out a few models. you need to either dilute his shooting or give him something else to shoot at entirely.

for the former, simply bring a bigger squad of berzerkers. for the latter, try bringing some cc cultists and charging the target unit with them before you charge the target unit with the 'zerkers (all on the same turn, of course). this forces him to decide if he's going to overwatch the cultists or 'zerkers; he can't do both.

I'd say in general you are too Heavy oriented. Obliterators are good, but not really that points efficient. It would up your game considerably to drop a couple and invest in more bezerkers, a transport etc.

I don't really understand the need for one small (pretty pathetic too) assault unit in this list. It's incredibly shooty, then a crappy assault unit thrown in for good measure. Tying something up in assault means you can't shoot it!

Losing Khan and the berzerkers would free up some points for some cheap, bolter-toting, scoring units.

So what if i doped Khan, the berzerkers and helbruter. Then added in the cultists, CSM upgraded to Thousand sons, and the raptors/warp talons?

I'm not a CSM specialist. I've played against them and I understand the basics of list building. I recommend heading over to the army lists section and asking how to change it up.

If you wanted a more assault based army, over-watch isn't too much of a problem since larger units and more units means that if your opponent does get lucky, it won't really matter too much.
