So I am again playing a friend at my local club this week. His Eldar are tough to beat (it's a well oiled tourney list). I've finally shifted from the DA codex to the Vanilla SM book as I think the DA book has really started to show its age and want to take a Storm talon. I've settled on the list below having played around with a list earlier that had more Dreadnoughts to lay down even more fire. But Assault terminators will be more useful.

I am happy with the amount of fire I am going to be able to lay down as I'll need to take out walkers, fire dragons and transports before they can do too much damage. I have around 35+ heavy weapon shots if my troops are static. But what do you think? Is this a decent all round list?

I dont know about 3 predators, I would have taken away one of them and bought a land speeder for agression and a melta to slow their armour.

I didn't take anything over strength 10 as they can reduce its effectiveness to 8 anyway. So I have gone for weapons that could glance to death or simply lay down a lot of fire against troops (as well as a lot of Frag and Krak).

i dont see the value of 10 assault terminators in this list. Eldar can out a punishing amount of firepower, so 10 unprotected termies are going to be whittled down bit by bit.
I'd be inclined to go with sternguard. give the libby gate and move around that way, exploiting opening in his army.

I had considered losing a Predator and an Assault Terminator squad in order to afford a Land Raider Crusader and an Aegis Defence line.

I sit the tac squad with the Flamer and no Rhino behind the Aegis defence line, Land Raider takes the terminators too them and I still have a load of fire power.
Failing that take Gate with the Lib and increase the size of the terminator squad to ten so they can move with him. The large amount of Storm shields would make the Terminators pretty robust to fire. And a focus away from other units.
What do you think?

An aegis isn't really needed. Eldar doesn't have fliers (AFAIK), so the points could be better used else where(?)
I think the generic land raider is better. 2 LC is great for popping tanks then termies drop out and charge the people inside.
You say it's a 'well oiled' tourney list, i'll put money on the fact that he has holo-fields on all his vehicles. That makes popping av12 harder.

I would drop the Aegis line and termies for sternguard fully kitted out in a pod. Then switch out the Crusader for a vanilla LR with LC for tank popping.

Honestly, I would drop a single sternguard, make it so 4 have combi-melta and 2 have combi-flamer, then use the remaining points for a better weapon on the libby.

At 1750, I'd drop both scouts and run with the 3 Tactical Squads for scoring. Get another Rhino for that third Squad.
Depending on how big you made those squads, I'd then reinvest the points in Landspeeder Typhoons or Sternguard.
There's also no need for one Land Raider at 1750 if it isn't carrying Terminators.

I had Terminators originally but they were swapped for the Sternguard. Thinking of bringing them back in as I lack the models for multiple combi-weapons (I only have three). So the current list stands as this.

I don't know but I would consider your original list but change the assault terminators to regular terminators. Assault Cannons or CMLs are going to add to your firepower. Regular termies are better than anything in assault - except for assault terminators. 10 stormbolters and 2 CMLs sound like enough coverage against eldar. The 2+ armor is going to make you impervious to all except starcannons, wraith guns, bright lances and pulse lasers.

How do you feel about locator beacons? Add that to the Drop pod for my Sternguard and the Terminators can zero in and make a real impact alongside them the next round.
More feet on the ground, I lose the Land Raider but that was a big points sink and unlikely to last the first round.

It looks good. i would not reserve your termies though. You have a terminator librarian with gate. Just deploy them on board and shoot the snot out of something. If you need to save the sternguard, you can gate in with the termies and have the locator beacon to home in on. I notice you are not stating what your scouts are armed with if not sniper rifles, they can still be mobile. A homer beacon on the sgt allows you to have a mobile force and again the ability to reinforce with the terminators.

I was planning to use the scouts with Sniper rifles. Static in cover and hopefully causing problems for a couple of turns.
Good idea on the Termies, imagine he'll have Eldrad though so may deny a lot of my moves, hopefully get lucky. Does gate home in on the locator beacon?

Honestly, I really liked the first list except for the overabundance of troop choices. You don't need that many at 1750 points. Also with the more objective based games, MSU becomes more effective so I recommend getting the full squad and splitting, putting them in TL HB Razorbacks. Scout Snipers are great objective holders, especially when you have something that bolsters defences. Thunderfire Cannons are great for that as it's an extremely undercosted unit that does so much, especially in the current meta of heavy infantry. Here's how I would do it similar to how you have it:

-Terminator Armor, Storm Shield, Force Axe, Gate of Infinity, Null Zone (for those pesky invul saves Eldar have)

If he is allowed to use FW in his lists he could have a Phoenix bomber and/or a Nightwing Interceptor. Both are quite devastating fliers, the Nightwing is insane with up to 2+ cover save.
Fliers aside, at 1750 Eldrad will probably be on the field, so be careful as he is a psychic beast and makes most libby's look like school children.

So far the effectiveness of 10 Wraithblades with Ghost Axes:
Tanked 2 Leman Russ squadrons (including the battle cannons and the triple plasma variant); whilst also getting wailed on by everything imaginable in a Fortress of Redemption. Only to get into CC with the tanks and open them up.
2000 points worth of Necrons with Forgeworld additions. Got into CC with a court of Lords and opened them up.
Killed a GUO.
Killed Angrath the Gargantuan Bloodthirster in an Apoc game (with the help of Iranna the Spirit Seer).
Ate a Hammerhead, pathfinders and scored after 3 turns of walking towards a 2000 point Tau gunline and overwatch!

Null Zone on a libby and forcing invul saves works pretty well. If the group he's with gets attacked by TH/SS terminators, he's pretty much dead if null zone is activated. It only costs you around 380 in points (that won't be wasted and will continue to kill) while he'll lose Eldrad and whatever unit he is with. It all depends on the ability to close with the terminators.
