Hello out there!!

Its Andyman again

I was thinking the other day....Why did GW ever let Gav Thorpe write any of their rules?

Does anyone remember the White Dwarf issues that had the "Warhammer Chronicles" in it from the early 2000's?

The biggest reason why Gav should stick to writing fluff was the issue in which he single-handedly re-wrote military weapon advancement.

In one of the issues shortly after taking the mantle from the last writer, he announced that Cannons could fire over mountains and trees and that Mortars need line of sight

He even had his graphics crew make cool little pictures that showed a cannonball bouncing over a stand of trees

Does anyone else remember that article?

First thing, why not just put his name in the title? Cause you don't think people would want to read it? And the other thing, I'm pretty sure the Dark Elves book was his last army book. He has been doing nothing but fluff since.

And is your main complaint about rules that are more than 10 years old?

He writes for Black Library now, he doesn't go anywhere near rules anymore. Seems a bit outdated to be bringing this up now.

Quite.

I'm sure we can manage something better than this.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.
