I love my chaos marines so far, But..i am having trouble dealing with armor parking lots. I was considering bringing in A Nurgle list, backed up with IG air power. But is that a good idea? Overkill yes, having a dragon+ up to 3 vendetta's, but overkill works. If i can ask, what would you do? if you had a 2k chaos list..What type of IG allies would you bring?

You might not need 3 vendettas, even 1 or 2 will make an impact.

Don't know about IG, but I have been using a friends Necrons to add a little air support to my Chaos and its been great. They take focus off my other units and can do a lot more than just a Heldrake.

IG's are a super flexible ally choice for almost anyone, CSMs included.

With your Nurgle forces, I think the thing you're missing is some long range firepower. You have flyers, scoring units and speedy pressure units but lack the ability to kill things at range.

With that in mind, I would consider adding a basic infantry platoon and taking some cheap autocannons and grenade launchers, maybe a chimera. Vendettas are OP so of course they're a good idea. As for heavies, you can't go wrong with the basic LRBT which adds more range.

I understand meltas are cheaper but why not take advantage of plasmas on your plagues longer range with just as much punch as the meltas and a 3+ 5+ to save a gets hot roll is nasty

Consider dropping a PM or 3 to free up room for the lord to ride with them.

With the command squads, I'd look into giving them 4x cheap specials instead. Grenade launchers still provide some medium range firepower for knocking out armor or flyers and flamers are very nice for overwatch or horde.

Drop the HWT's because they're too easy to kill off being as S6 instant-kills them. For the same points I'd get some chimeras or put it towards a LRBT.

@Minigun, yea i did realize that after i posted the list "hmm..where is the lord going" lol So one unit will loose a PM and a melta, And those points i will upgrade a AC here or there and turn it into a lascannon. I will look into the nade' launchers for sure, it does sound interesting, although i do like the large number of AC shots lobbed down field to give my PM cover fire.

@Muagenreaper Cheaper doesn't concern me, i will argue that metlas are better then plasmas all day until i am blue in the face, The PM are my mid field anti armor line (thats not their sol job..but it helps). You can't bust a vehicle with a plasma like you can with a melta. Also.. anything i pay points for that could in turn kill me.. i will not take.

Do you run daemon wepons

Depends on my list. The list i have in mind (which has already been made thanks to all the feedback i have gotten) is not using a daemon weapon.
