Well last night I bumped my black wash (GW Nuln oil) all over my painting table..... Is there a way to make a simple wash without having to drive 20 miles to the closest hobby store. .... I did a search and could not find any info...... I do have some Chaos Black paint.... Thanks... Ed

The quick and dirty way is to water down some black paint with plain water, and add a tiny amount of dishwashing liquid to break the surface tension. Won't behave exactly the same. If you have a glaze medium to hand, that can work too.

Paint + glaze medium + Flow-Aid = profit

On Nimbosa, cramming as many guardsmen into troop carriers as possible.

I used an old pot of chaos black paint, some of the black included in the old hobby starter set and some water from the sink to make a lovely black wash!

I filled the empty pot about 1/2 way full with black paint and filled it with water so that the resulting wash filled 3/4 of the pot.

Not sure what a glaze medium is.... are you talking like the floor polish "Future"..... Guy used that to shine their jump boots when I was in the army.... if it rained it made your nice boots turn from black to purple..... I do have flow aid for my airbrush......

If you have it, use "paint medium" it will flow better than water.

However, most folks don't keep it around.

Glaze medium is an acrylic medium used for making glazes (kind of like washes). It increases the transparency of the which is how you make a glaze. It is available in the paint section from any of the big name arts & crafts stores, the brand is most often Liquitex. I personally use Vallejo when I make my own washes.

I would get a glossy piece of tile from a hardware store. (85 cents) and just add some black and then add some water until it pools up like water on the tile. Then apply

I lost my Badab Black. Mixed some Black paint in a 1:5 ratio Paint:water and worked perfectly.
