Much to my delight i returned home yesterday to find a lunchbox full of spacehulk termies awaiting me. Hurrah for ebay. However these badboys look like they have been living in a hoover before their new tupperware digs.
So how do i get the dust out the details? This stuff is everywhere, they are unpainted at the moment and i really dont want mountains of some other mugs dandruff clogging up my paint. Is there anything i can wash these in to try and remove it?
Any help appreciated.

Perhaps a can of compressed air?

GW Rules Interpretation Syndrom. GWRIS. Causes people to second guess a rule in a book because that's what they would have had to do in a GW system.

Wondering Why the Emperor Left

The Warp

A quick dunk in a bowl of water? I think that a god swishing around of the model should do it.

"The uniforms of the Imperial guard are camouflaged in order to protect their wearers by hiding them from sight. the principle is that what the enemy cannot see, he cannot kill. This is not the way of the Adeptus Astartes. A Space Marine's armour is bright with heraldry that proclaims his devotion to his Chapter and the beloved Emperor of Mankind. Our principle is that what the enemy can see, he will soon learn to fear." -The codex Astartes

I'll let Ron Kruzie of PP deal with this, as it was on their insider but 3 days ago.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Stick some tights or something like that (netted curtains for example) over the end of your hoover, then stick your models over the nozzle. Gets rid of the dust and won't suck up your models/bits.

Thanks for the responses, i tried a search but just kept getting results for the Dust game. I shall acquire a makeupbrush im not sure i could handle buying that and tights in one day.

A cheapo ultrasonic cleaner would work well.

I usually just use a toothbrush. A damp (not overly wet) toothbrush if it's really heavy duty dust. Never scratched or damaged a model using a regular brush before. Use an old one if you can, the bristles will be softer.

If they are unpainted you can pretty much do anything with them... A bowl of hot (not boiling) water with a little dish detergent and a stiff-bristle toothbrush or vegetable cleaner will work just fine.

I've yet to come across dust that a moderately stiff bristled (hog hair chip brushes and the like) brush couldn't knock off. It's safe on all but the weakest paintjobs, so bare plastic is no problem. If the stuff has been locked down by other mystery gunk, a scrub in warm, soapy water will likely do the trick. No need to get fancy, here.
