I'm looking at micron pens to do writing on purity seals and for eyes. Someone who's familiar with them, what size tip would be appropriate?
Thanks,
Duff

I tried the Micron pen route and I was not pleased with the results... The lines were too thick and I didn't feel I had the same control with the pen as I do with a brush. My personal views notwithstanding, just look for the smallest one available, which is a .2 mm if I am not mistaken.

Did you find a better alternative?

I have a Pigma Micron 005 which is 0.20mm line width in black and red. Bought them specifically for doing purity seals on the advice of somebody on this forum. I love them and can now do seals better than I ever thought I would be able to.

Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee. |

It might be helpful to know what specifically you want to do with your purity seals. Everyone has their personal pereference, and what effect they like, but then I bought my micron pen to do lettering on my tanks, and have since used it for lining, scribblies on parchments and the like....

I primarily use the 005 for tiny scribbles, as on purity seals. While the nibs are quite firm, the tips are round and have a little give, so you can still do very fine lines with larger sizes (I'd say up to an 03, speaking practically, but it's still possible, even beyond that), if you keep a light touch. For their price, though, I'd just get another one (or more) if I wanted multiple line sizes without driving myself crazy. I've got the full complement and they've all been used, to date, on models, whether for text, blacklining, or laying down and subsequently filling in checks and dags. Honestly, I can't imagine getting a finer line than a 005 gives with a brush, no matter the quality. I just did a test scribble on paper with an 01, using a light touch. It's on par with the hair a plucked and placed next to it.
