So here it is. I've got no upcoming tournament to motivate me. I've got at least 1500pts of Dark Angels to paint, excluding my Dark Vengeance stuff, about 1000pts of Chaos, again excluding Dark Vengeance, the Dark Vengeance set and the random touch-ups that need doing that I keep finding on my Imperial Guard. I should mention that a previous tournament is the only reason I have a fully painted 2000pt Imperial Guard army, kept up til 3am the night before cos I always leave stuff to the last minute. Well, time to change the tempo. It's November 4 today, I want Squad Raphael fully painted by the time I write my next entry. Shouldn't be too hard as they all have two layers of Caliban Green already but starting off with an achievable goal is probably a good idea. Future goals are:
- Dark Vengeance Deathwing fully painted by the end of November 5
- Dark Vengeance Ravenwing fully painted by the end of November 6
- Dark Vengeance Balthasar fully painted by the end of November 7
- Dark Vengeance Turmiel fully painted by the end of November 8
If I can keep to these goals I'll have all the Dark Vengeance Dark Angels fully painted by next Friday. By the way, Wednesday and Thursday only have a one-model quota because my partner has those days off and naturally we'll be spending them together. Night painting is the go! Once this is done I'll decide between finishing the Dark Vengeance set off or continuing with the rest of my Dark Angels.
Photos incoming.

Well, that's the first hurdle overcome. I've set myself a goal and kept to it. Squad Raphael is fully painted, minor touch-ups are needed and I'm waiting until most of my models are done to base them. Spent about an hour and a half at my local GW painting before I got interrupted by the prospect of a game. Two hours later my Imperial Guard had soundly defeated 1750pts of Chaos Marines, spectacular moments included shooting down a flying Daemon Prince with a line of steady-handed guardsmen and dropping a Battle Cannon shell on top of Kharn's head, blowing him back to the Warp in teeny-tiny pieces The rest of the painting got done well after the sun was down and my fiance had fallen asleep, which is when I get most of this done I suppose. So, on to the Terminators tomorrow!
Photo's will be posted as soon as I figure out how to!!! If anyone can help advise me I'd be grateful.

Hmmm, it's come to my attention that I've inadvertently named my blog after a Good Charlotte track. Therefore I must state that Good Charlotte, the song 'Motivation Proclamation' and any fans of the above can go die in a hole, slowly and painfully if possible. My younger sister blasted that crap back in the day during her emo phase and it's one of the bigger reasons I moved out
Met my goal once again, despite not starting until after 10pm. The Deathwing was a lot trickier to paint than I thought it was going to be, not helped by the fact that I'm in dire need of new paint brushes. All in all I'm happy with them though, they need touching up around the eyes and golden rope, the sergeants sword could use a bit more 'power' colour but other than that they're looking pretty damn good. I should add that I was painting by lamplight during a massive storm that was shaking the house and lighting it up pretty good as well. The general epicness of it was quite inspiring Tomorrow, the Ravenwing!

To quote Sheldon Cooper: "My mucous has gone from clear to forest-green"
No painting today kids. I sat down at my desk just now and couldn't do it. Goals matter and meeting them is very important to me, but health is a bit of alright as well. I'll shoot for Ravenwing tomorrow and get Balthasar and Turmiel done on thursday.

Back into the action! After being laid low by this Emperor-forsaken sickness, I'm finally well enough to paint again. I celebrated this by getting my Dark Vengeance Ravenwing painted up. They are at table-top standard but they could definitely be improved upon, normal required touch-ups notwithstanding. I guess I could cite fatigue as the reason but I don't think I will.
Regardless, I plan to have Turmiel and Balthasar painted up by tomorrows entry. This will achieve my goal of having all the Dark Vengeance Dark Angels completed by Friday. Note that as I never stated WHEN on Friday that this totally still counts. Learn how to loophole, it's one of life's vital skills. Now to bed, I haven't had a battle in a few days and I'm itching to blow some stuff up and see another face drop as Marbo does his thing.

And it's done! Maybe a day later than I wanted to finish but considering I had two paint-free days of sickness I think I did pretty damn good. I finished up with Turmiel and Balthasar and I'm really happy with their paint jobs. While I haven't taken advantage of every bit of sculpted detail, I've still managed to make them look dynamic and eye-catching, as the centrepieces of my force should! It was another late-night session, after driving around doing errands most of the day it took me a while to wind down enough to sit down and get stuck in. I should probably mention that in between running said errands I did pop into my LGW for a chat with the store guy, after which I went to my other LGW for a game. After a rather frustrating 2 on 2 battle (During which my team-mate kept sitting down to build his chaos terminators and the poor guy having his first ever game kept trying to get some semblance of the process down) I had to leave the air-conned store and drive across the other side of the city and back. I thought “Stuff it. While I'm around I may as well go in for another game.”, went inside and had a much more satisfying 1000pt Relic battle against nids. So yeah, long day but not only slaked my lust for battle but also finished my Dark Vengeance Dark Angels. Until I get a new paint brush or two I'm going to have an increasingly hard time painting men so I'm gonna do some vehicle painting for the next week. It's now actually early Sunday the 11th so my weekly goals are as follows:
- Razorback painted by the end of Sunday
- Dreadnought painted Monday
- Landspeeder painted Tuesday
- Landspeeder painted Wednesday
- Landspeeder painted Thursday
- Drop-Pod painted Friday
This will complete my current collection of Space Marine Vehicles, except for my Ravenwing force, by this Friday. A pretty reasonable goal to shoot for I think, with a house inspection on Wednesday I'll be spending a lot of time until then cleaning, my partner having Wednesday and Thursday off means less painting those days as well. I'll buy some new brushes this week and make up my mind on what to do next, I'm still tossing up between finishing Dark Vengeance off or finishing my Dark Angels.
P.S. Photos are coming, I swears!! If someone could tell me how they get theirs up I'd be eternally grateful. And yes, I don't know much about computers. Well, spotted

Twas a good day today. I don't handle the heat very well so I decided to outlast the 35 degree weather in my air-conditioned LGW. Got my Razorback fully painted and repaired to a pretty high standard by about midday and then contemplated my next move. There wasn't much gaming to be had, so I passed a very pleasant afternoon painting up my only remaining unpainted LRBT. I would've worked on tomorrows Landspeeder but didn't have it with me. At about 3:30, I had a 1000pt game with the last guy who really gave me a drubbing. Hour and a half later his damned Orks had nearly tabled me, gotten all primary and secondary objectives and my Outflanking Chimera full of Harker, Plasma and AC had failed to join the battle. His eventual defeat at my hands will be satisfying indeed! It was actually really good to have such a challenging game against such a tough enemy, my last few battles have been crushing victories for me. Don't get me wrong, I love to win, but the lessons of defeat at the hands of a competent commander are well learned.
Anywho, I was happy to not need to be up half the night painting for a change. Tomorrow, the Landspeeder!

No painting yesterday. I totally cheated by counting a landspeeder that was already painted. Lucky I did though, I've only just now found time for hobby since Sunday. Bloody house cleaning! Turns out I couldn't paint tonight anyway due to lack of black spray, no way I'm going to hand paint primer. Instead, I used the time to do some conversions. One of my landspeeders has a Multi-Melta, another has the Sammael load-out. The last one has nothing, I bought it second hand like the vast majority of my 40k models, so I've decided to give it the standard heavy bolter and perhaps an autocannon as well. The heavy bolter I pilfered from my unbuilt Cadian heavy weapons teams, still unsure what I can use for the AC. Also had to raid my partially built marines as this landspeeders crew is just legs at the moment. The other landspeeders driver needs an arm too. So yeah, only spent about 45mins tonight but it's been a long day and I was happy to get any in at all. Tomorrow I'll buy some black spray and get stuck in, they actually won't need much else, So landspeeders tomorrow, dreadnought Thursday and drop-pod Friday. Also, I finally worked out how to upload photos so I'll be attaching some next entry.

It's been some time since my last entry but rest assured, I've been busy. Ok, so my landspeeders and my dreadnought aren't painted, but another project popped up that I just couldn't resist. I found an awesome brand name briefcase in an op shop in pristine condition and bought it for $10 with the intention of converting into a model case for my Ravenwing. $20 at the hardware store got me the foam cut to size, fitting snugly inside. Maybe a little too snug, but it's foam, it'll reduce. I painstakingly measured out the dimensions for each of my bikers, Balthasar and Turmiel, landspeeders and dreadnought. I wanted to fit the drop-pod as well, but it's too tall for the case even when lying down. I got the drop-pod painted, by the way. Photos were taken throughout this process and will be up asap. So now I've glued the thinner backing foam on and am waiting for it to dry. Go the $30 model case!
I've been playing some games with my Dark Angels lately, losing most of them. I've been inspired by this to focus on them for the foreseeable future, both gaming and painting. My goal is to get my entire Dark Angels force painted in, say, 20 days which puts us on December 10. I'll break it down into workloads next entry. I'm also intent on concentrating my game time on them as well, I feel I'm competent enough with IG to put my focus elsewhere for a while. Cheers to a new challenge

Not the most intuitive process ever, I'll admit.
1) Go to "Gallery", one of the options in the top left of the dakka site
2) Click "Upload your wargaming images"
3) Follow that process to completion
4) Back to "Gallery"
5) Click "My Gallery Homepage"
6) Open the desired pic
7) Below the pic, on the right is a textbox called "Forums"
8) Copy this code into your post
9) Voila!
Hope that helps!
Cheers
