Hey all,

I'm looking around for some victorian style minis that will fit with 40k. I'm trying to make a civilian force for a rioters vs police game me and my friend designed.

Specifically, i'm looking for top hats, vests, whatever those ruffled shirts are called, suspenders, etc. They'd all be poor farmers and miners, maybe a few rich folk mixed in for fun.

While I'm here, anyone seen any Roman, Greek or steampunk minis of the same kind? I'd like to expand my collection, but so far I've only ever found Roman Legionnaires, Greek Hopilites, and no sign of steampunk. At least, no multi-part stuff, that's the real clencher.

Any help would be awesome,

Cheers all,
DaBestest

EDIT: If you can, leave the companies' name too. That would help the most.

The Orks got to Antiga when my Warboss didn't like the look of the planet floating above his moon, and thought he should teach it 'Not ta stare at da Orkz!'

The Antigan 15th has survived on the simple but effective battle plan that every enemy can be beaten with enough foot soldiers and lasguns.

There's a company called "Victoria Miniatures", they have a news thread here on Dakka. This is their website.

Are a couple examples of the type of models you can make, and some torsos with suspenders. No top hats, but some of the torsos and so on might be of use for civvies. Metal though which I'm not a hug fan of.

Yes, Victoria does indeed do great Victorians.

A quick search for '28mm Victorian' will find you plenty of choices, steampunk or not.

@yonan: yes, that is a company I'll be using. And the metal's no big deal, these are all for casts, so eventually everything will be resin anyways. I just need a good base model to cast.

@clang: While that does yield a ton of results, most of those are not multi-part, or they are not heroic scale. Like I said, they have to fit with 40k, since that's what my military models are based off of.

Also, has anyone seen any police? Pulp fiction has a few, but they're all solid models.

Thanks for the advice, it does help.

Cheers,
DaBestest

So you are planning to cast the work of a small one person business to fill out an army? Classy... aaaand reported.

Uhm, I'm not sure I understand. Reported for what? To whom?

I've never seen Carnevale, these look pretty cool! A little macabre, but cool!

Thanks all,

DaBestest

EDIT: Well Silver, I understand your reasons at least. But firstly, it's not to 'fill' an army. In fact, looking back on the messages, I can't see where you got that assumption. I did say I was casting, but I never mentioned an amount. So, for your information: I've spent thousands on models, I have more army that I need. It's to make a few dozen civilians for a riot game, and maybe a squad of policemen to fight them against. And I think, like most wargamers, that I've paid more than a fair price for bits of molded plastic over the years, so pardon me for trying to keep on with my favorite hobby while paying bills and feeding a family. I know, I'm a callous monster.

Casting miniatures like that without permission from the creator is copyright infringement, which is something that Dakka does not support and does not allow discussion of on the forums.

If you want miniatures to cast, you're going to need to sculpt your own, or source a sculptor who can make you the miniatures you want with reproduction rights.
