As soon as I figure out how long it takes to cure... you can see the dark green was applied before the other. Its been on for about 24 hours and is still deformable.

My Idea. is that the bike is the infected organism. and that the rider is actually just its meal. Here is the second Bike having almost finished breaking down the rider.

AWESOME! Awesome! Props to you good sir!, for turning unworthy minions of the false emperor into the fly lords chosen servants of decay!
Let the corpse dance continue!

Enough Nurgle rage, but great job sir! I love the Tzeench head on the assault cannon termie, with the green stuff, you can't even tell he's not chaos. What you're doing is amazing. I also like the paint job. Keep it up!

I'll tell you the truth, it looks like you blobbed some GS on and called it a day. I don't mean to be harsh.

Go to a craft store and buy some clay tools, it will help you out big time. Clay shapers and dental/clay pics. I just bought some from hobby lobby for 40% for 10$

I have all those tools. its more the fact that i opened the green stuff for the first time less then a week ago and have done about 8 guys with it. In hind-site i went way too far and obscured too much of the model. but im happy with them purely from an educational standpoint. especially as they were wasted models that would have just collected dust as DAs. In my next attempts ill go for the less is more, and pay more attention to the details. add more depth with different textures and techniques

Are those bases from secret weapon ? How did you like them?

I like where your going with zombies.

they seem a little small for my CSM and a lot small for the Dark vengeance lord and champs. They also arent as heave as i would like and the flat bottom isnt good for gluing a penny to so im unsure what to do about it. But the details are fantastic. They requires a bit of cleanup at the edge of the base on the bottom. The cloth polish tip on a dremel did a quick job of it. My only issue is i watched an unboxing of the zombies and was told that the box said 60 but only made 30. That was incorrect. I got a box of ghouls to make up some of the diff so now i have 80 zombies so now i need 30 more bases. I think ill go with the hollow ones so i don't have to remove the bases on the other 30 zombies.

I bought the skullfield ones for my Black Legion army and I know what you mean about lite and small. They do look nice though.

I just googled the weight issue and found the idea of getting washers the exact size of the bases bottom and glueing them flush... then with black paint you cant even tell... so i think i have that sorted.

Dang, I plan on doing the same thing now because of this blog. Everything looks really cool, but could you perhaps detail your process a little? Also, where did you get those zombie models from? They look spectacular.

Mantic games sells a zombie hoard. 60 zombies for 60 bucks. i also got a pack of 20 ghouls as the parts are interchangeable. The bases are from secreat weapon. Im just starting so detailing my chaotic experaments is hard, but if you tell me what you want to know ill try.

Oh, sorry, I meant detail your process as in, give us some details as to what you're doing to paint them. That probably came off as pretty rude lol.

I mainly am interested to know what you did to get that brownish green in your last picture.

And thanks for the info on the models! Although, after looking them up now I'm a bit curious as to how they compare in size to the regular cultist models.

Its just ghoul skin paint from reaper, with a heavy wash of nuln oil.

I started painting my zombies, got some "Camo" paint at walmart and based half in a dark brown (almost black). Then based half of the remaining in green with the other half in tan. I hit them all with lighter colors from above to give it some highlight.

after that i drybrushed them with reaper ghoul skin and washed with Sepai.

Here is my first test zombie. still need some white details for the exposed bone, then eyes. Im doing 4 variation of color this is almost human.
