Hello from Greenville, Texas ...... I'm a newbie here, and also new to wargaming ..... unless you count a Good risk game ..... I'm building my Ultra Space marine chapter ..... and my Battlefield ...... I've read the Black reach Rule Book and know I need the version 6. but 0 $'s are causing a problem there. I haven't fought my first battle yet ..... But I've started a Rhino and a Razorback today ...... figure I need a Vehicle, to transport my troops .... I've finished two Battle Hills, The Sanctum Iperalis, Manfactorum, & the Shrine of Aquilla (still needs paint) . still need to start the Admin building and two of the tree kits. When done I will have a fairly nice battlefield. I'm very interested in this aspect of the Hobby ..... So I've also become a GWS Sockist, at their request ..... not quite a Gaming center yet, Seems The Weasel is out of the bag, in Hunt, County Texas. I look forward to a great adventure. I will be ordering my Space Marine codex, next week which should help me with all the questions I have, I've been picking my other gaming friend brains, but I find there is alot to learn......Cheers ..... G

You'll certainly have a nicely set up table for your first battle. Make sure to check out the painting and modeling sub-forum here, plenty of helpful tutorials and inspiring work.

Welcome to Dakka Dakka, I would recommend reading up on tactics, lists, and Battle Reports. I play in the Clackimus area in Oregon. Send me a line if you need some starter advice.

I went black reach for my Ultramarines and Orks. But you will need a lot more then those guys. Your terrain is coming along well. I always paint terrain with acrylic paints. It keeps them from popping more then the models and it is so much cheaper. Also you can get a foam cutter, or a sodering iron to melt in some textured details into those hills and or sidewalks, blast marks, or cracks into the city area.

The Good: 8,000
Ultramarine, Scouts, Blood Angels, Dark Angels
The Bad: 8,000

Nice work.

the best results aside from airbrush is primer, base colors, wash, wet dry brush, light dry brush. It always works out beautifully. Just dilute acrylics to make a wash and let it dry for longer then GW washes.

As for the manufacturing..... Go to a dollar store and grab a sheet of foam board. Cut out rectangles the size of the sprue pieces and attach card stock (cereal box trimmings), and unused sprue plastic and bits. It will give you much more wall space since there is not too many for the manufactorium.. You should do the same for the floors, I reinforced mine with pop sickle sticks. and got a very small hole punch to add rivets.

I just received a Airbrush ...... been very rainy here so I didn't get to use it yet ... plus on the admin building I only painted the front so I will have to tape it off to paint sides ...... I had been having trouble with the building falling apart after using Citadel's Glue .... So I have switched to Testor's Orange tube ..... and glued the building to a piece of Games-Workshop signage cardboard ..... (extra & damaged in shipment) ..... On the Manufactorum, I have two kits it should be great when finished on the board like the admin has been done. The Ruble is blended GW Spue, I have finished one kit ..... Pictures on my old computer I'll see if I can find them..... but after putting it on cardboard it ..... On the foam board & the Hot wire cutter ...... I use the inch thick from Home Depot ..... $12 a 4X8 sheet great for the battle field ........ needed the extra kit ..... working on that ..... now ....... I 'm working on some crater's next ..... When I post the picture of the manufactorum you will see how I do the building mounting ...... Cheers for Now ...... I think I need to start another thread on my buildings .... Since this one is for to say Howdie ......
