I'm toying with this idea making couple of skeletons like in army of darkness.

Bleached bone+devlan mud
I don't think it's going to work because it will leave too dark and "smooth" finish.

My personal guess would be something like bleached bone+satin varnish+brown oil wash but I don't paints to test this.

If somebody has a mini example of the scheme it would be greatly appreciated.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

You could start with a slightly different color like a 2:1 mix of bleached bone to snakebite leather... I remember the good old days when everyone's skellys were drybrushed....

Ohhh well back to my old man corner

I would do bleached bone and devlan mud. That's how I do bones for my space wolves.

Gathering the Informations.

I actually did something like this for my Wight King Standard Bearer and my Cairn Wraith.

The trick was using Scorched Brown as the basecoat for the bone, and then using Graveyard Earth to lighten it up.
Final color was Kommando Khaki, then the bone was washed with a mixture of Gryphonne Sepia/Devlan Mud.

Looks kinda like there's a touch of gore still left on them so I would go

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

With finecast you can bypass the washing stage and throw them straight into the bin.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

Not if you put a drybrush of bone on after your wash. That's how I used to do my skeletons when I played fantasy, and it looks a lot like the one in that screenshot.

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.

Bleached bone. Sepia wash. Light dry brush bleached bone. Very light dry brush of white to just barely pick up a highlite or 2.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?
