Hello, I am moving to Oahu in a few weeks, I have visited Other Realms. But I am looking for some ideas about what people play on the Island, and is there any clubs or what not? I am fist and foremost a Lord of the Rings play, then Fantasy and finally 40K. I also enjoy playing RPGs. I am coming from a very competitive area, where people would go to national Tournaments. I myself am a Throne of Skulls Champion. And can be very competitive, but I also enjoy the game, I do not tailor my list, I enjoy working a list until it plays the way I want it to play, then will play it until I get tired of it. A couple of my list I have been playing for the better part of a year, (if it aint broke, don’t fix it) But as I head into a new area I am sure the meta will change, I would love to know wha the going point value for games, do you normally play at 1000, 1500 2000+ points? What games do you play? I am looking forward to meeting and playing some new people.

Armies I play
Lord of the rings,

Just about everything, but my favorite is defiantly the misty mountains,

Fantasy

Ogres, Bretonians, Beastmen, Skaven working on Dwarves and High Elves, and looking to get into Orcs and Goblins

40k

Orks, Dark Eldar, working on Dark Angels/Vanilla Marines Next up will be IG.

I, too, am curious about gaming on the island as well. I'm Navy and one of the places i'd like to go is Hawaii. Just curious as to what the gaming community is like too

I have never seen a single game of LOTR being played here. I know its for sale at Armchair though.

Game space is a premium here and there really isnt much in store gaming. Other Realms sponsors a MON game night in a conference room very near by. Its good and there are lots of pick up game opportunities.

Hawaiigamers.net is the local forum. Its easy to schedule a game, quite common because traffic here is the worst in the entire US. Yes worse than DC, NY, LA. There is essentially one freeway here and even though Other Realms is 8 miles away from Pearl Harbor/Hickham its easily a 45+min drive.

This is a very well rounded crowd minus LOTR. Very diverse 40K, only 2-3 marines, couple GK, everything else represented even sisters. Fantasy is a smaller crowd but more dedicated.

PP, MTG, and even a small Infinity group is present.

This man is 100% correct. I'm stationed at the marine corps base in kbay on oahu and trafic is crazy but that website is good to set up games on. Now that I know a good amount of people thanks to monday night gaming at OR we just text or call eachother and plan a day at one anothers houses and eat pizza and drink beer. If ya'll are down there I'll be back in country around june-july time period and if ya'll want to hook up a game I'd be down. I miss playing something fierce

I just recently got back into Warhammer Fantasy. So while I wait for my friend to mail me my old army I have starting building a Orc and Goblin Army and a Skaven Army. So while they aren't painted yet they are mostly put together. So I am very interested in getting to play them against others. If someone out there is interested in playing but doesn't have an army I should have more then enough Orc and Goblins to field various armies.
