In this battle, Reece busts out his Nids against Captain Dees’ tournament Biker Marines in a very fun bat rep.

Enjoy!

Great game! I'm still personally hesitant on the Doom, but it's good to see you get a win (proof that Tyranids are a strong army... )

Holy cow you friggin won! Not only that, but you kicked some major ass

Ive noticed personally, that Doom seems to work like that. It either gets its ass shot off, or it comes down in the perfect spot and just pulverizes

Good BR and gratzs on the win.

I remember the first time I played against the Doom, the thing near enough wiped out all my Necron troops in one turn. If you can't packing any S8 long range weapons, its a major pain to play against.

Good game.

I don't believe you would be able to pick up the relic and then transfer it to another squad and turbo away. The rules say that you pick it up at the end of the phase. While it's true that the other paragraph says you can transfer at the end of the movement, since both are at the end they would be checked simultaneously and not in order. Therefore the situation would be:

1 is for the transfer
2 is for the picking up of the relic

And so...End move movement phase; So these are at the same time, meaning one cannot trigger before the other, thus allowing the second to work;

Check 1
- are the models in base contact? yes, proceed to second step
- is the model carrying the relic? no

Check 2
- is a scoring model in base contact? yes, then pick up the relic

If both things happen at the end of the phase (simultaneously) and not in sequence, then you cannot possibly possess something that you are currently in the process of trying to possess, thus the picking up works but the transfer does not until you had prior control.

Thanks guys! Haha, thus ends my ridiculous losing streak! hahaha

@Emp.

Yeah, it is a bit iffy.

I think your train of logic may be accurate, and it definitely bears consideration. I find myself agreeing with you, but I will ask the other TOs what they think, as well. It just felt a bit much. We'll have to make a ruling on it for our events as that will certainly come up.

Biker armies are really good this edition and I am sure that combo will become quite popular.

Hey Reecius, greatings for the win.

I haven't seen the video yet (stupid firewall) and waiting to have it this eve may you tell me if you choosed to exchange cataclism with a book power on the Doom or if you just used it as standard?

Between yours, JY2 batreps and other of course I seen a lot of people using the Doom with very mix results and I still have problems considering it a competitive choice..

Every molecule will be useful

6000+ pts NIDS
() 2000 pts growing to 4000...

The Doom was a monster that game. I thought with all his plasmas, Dan was going to give your big guys a world of hurt, but the doom was definitely a game-changer this game.

@Toban

Glad you liked them!

And yes, I almost always switch for the Telepathy Power Psychic Shriek. It compliments the Doom's abilities well.

He is a bit hit or miss. But, he is a low points investment that can win you the game. I think he is a safe investment and worth taking in a competitive list. When he is good, he is so good.

You will probably get more consistency with max Hive Guard, and in a competitive list you typically do go for practicability, but in this case I think the risk is worth the potential reward.

@Jy2

Yeah, the Doom won me the game for sure. I took a big risk with Swarmy turn 1, that almost backfired on me. With both Tervigons pooping out turn 1 also, things were looking a bit grim. But I lucked out and all of my reserves came in turn 2 and that is what did it for me. Otherwise I could have been in it deep.

@Ray

Thanks!
