Ok I am suprised this isn't a constantly running thread but how about people ranking the armies strongest to weakest. This is all opinion so arguments are not necesary. I am mainly curious about what people think the worst armies are because I want to start a second army and handicap myself

We just had a thread on this topic about two days ago now. But if you want to start a second army that is lower tier and you do not play Space Marines already, try Black Templars. You can also start an Eldar, Tau, or Tyranid, Ork army for a challenge.

Because of the price of the models, I really cannot suggest you start a Sisters of Battle army and because Dark Angels may be updated soon, you might get two or three months of their 4th ed codex before, who knows, they're top tier in 6th edition.

I do recall a thread about low tier armies, but that doesn't really answer that other thing I would like to get out of this thread, who does everyone think are the best armies.

That said.. if you want to challenge yourself, army ranking might not be the best way to go at it.

You could simply build yourself an off-key build from some of the armies that allow it: Say.. an all Death Company Blood Angels army, a lots-of-Wolfs-as-troops Space Wolves list. A Foot-(Dark)-Eldar List, etc.. .

The best and most enjoyable challenge doesn't have to be in the lowest tiered-army.

Or even try out a Daemon army that doesn't spam any Flamers, Screamers and/or FMC's and also doesn't include Fateweaver...
Instead of min/maxing the army and going overboard on the Elites, Tzheralds and Princes, try a balanced army with plenty of Troops which are all overcosted by a few pts.

Overall if you look purely at the overall learning curve, Chaos Daemons have the harshest one, even more so than Eldar who at least get solid units like Farseers and jetbike councils or Scatter Laser armed outflanking War Walkers...
