My idea is that Pheonix Lords would make their appropriate Aspect warriors into Troops. I always wanted to run a Striking Scorpion army. So for instance, Karandras would make Striking Scorpions troops. Asurman wouldn't do anything though because Dire Avengers are already troops. Ideas? Automatically Appended Next Post: Does anyone think this is a good idea?

Maybe. It'd be a pretty reasonable direction to take things, certainly, but let's see what the new Codex says, I don't know that GW would let us bring back the days of Biel-Tan and thirty-Dark-Reaper armies.

That army sucked then and would suck more now.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Yeah, I know, but I'm doing this for fluff reasons, and not for a gaming advantage like most people would. I just like Karandras and Scorps! The reason I started playing Eldar and Biel-Tan was the Striking Scorpions on the Planetstrike poster.

I can see this working. The only aspect that could cause issues would be the Dragons but then they wouldn't cope well with hordes.

It could work but you could definitely take too much an advantage so if I were writing the rules I'd probably limit the amount of Aspects that you could take as troops. Maybe limit it to two troops?

Two or three sounds like a good idea, and also, if you took them as troops you cant take them as elites.

Yeah, something like that would give a good balance.
