Perfect Shot Dark Angels Predator Pilot

Hi,
I've been at this about a year and a bit now, Recently I've been either A) After something or B) having serious painters block or burnout. I'm trying to paint a DA Librarian and I've most of the upgrade sprue sitting there as well which I wanna pair with a command squad and the skull helmets from anvil.co.uk to make a retinue for my interrogator chaplain Asmodai (counting him as IC cos hes not in the codex at this point in time) But I'm having no luck and painting this Libby is a serious slog......I've been at him on and off two weeks and I've yet to paint his backpack and shoulderpads and assemble him. Do I just put him away till I've the command squad and then blast through him?
I've also got about four projects spinning around my head:
-DW army, I wanna start with Belial and I've a great conversion idea but its gonna cost about £40, or just get Termies
-Predator
-Get a Tyranid model and play with it
-Paint up my GF's old Saurods and Skinks (Bretonians vs lizardmen WFB Starter kit)
I think I've hit burnout in all likelyhood, but does anybody else feel like this and how dya overcome it?

For the Lion and Terra!
Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

Or cut out the middleman and just flush some money down the toilet.

I think everyone goes through it at some point and it will happen again.
Don't force yourself to paint. it will just make it a chore and you will push yourself farther away from it.
Best advice I can give you is step away from it and do something else for a while. Soon enough you will get the urge to paint again.

Also, if you've been painting the same army for a few months, paint something else. When I was churning through my Khador army, I got SO bored with painting red. I stopped painting for a bit, but I felt myself missing it. Rather than painting things I felt like I "had" to paint, I instead grabbed a friend's Trollblood Mauler and painted something I'd wanted to paint. Right now I'm bored with Orks, so I've stolen a friend's Cryx model that I've wanted to paint for awhile.
Stepping away is something I'd try first, but if you find that you want to paint, I'd suggest painting for a friend, or going to your FLGS and buying a Reaper mini that interests you.

Yeah, this happens now and then. I find that it helps to work on something frivolous, like a terrain project or objective markers. Painting for someone else seems to hit the reset button as well, there is something refreshing about being generous in that way. Adding to your woes (A Predator! A Deathwing Army!!) is probably not going to help, you will probably look at what you have done and not be happy with it anyway. Good luck and don't get too worried, creativity just needs time to recharge.

Happened to me recently. I just primed & basecoated all my Elysians. The next day when I sat down to do some real painting I found myself just staring at them. From there I decided to start building a custom DKoK allied detachment for gits & shiggles & after all that GS work I was ready to go back to painting. I have but 2 more drop trooper bodies to buy, 9 custom ODST heads to cast for my stormies & gs work on 5 vets into modern-esque marines & it's time to paint more. I've intentionally spaced it so that I've got multiple projects for multiple armies in various stages of completion going at once so as to keep from reaching critical mass burnout.

When I quit smoking pot last year i really hit a major painting block. It was so bad that I thought maybe that my will to paint was dependent on the weed. After about 2 months or so I looked through the gw site and looked for a model I really wanted to paint. I really liked the metal Daemon Prince. I ended up buying a plastic kit, but it really resparked my interest to paint. I haven't looked back.

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

I've had it since the Chaos release. The flier and the big walker put me off the hobby to a large extent because it made the whole thing to childish.
So I'm currently stripping and re-painting some old metal Limited Edition marines and a metal IG CCS. My tip is to go back to what you know you like and do that instead!

Yeah, painters block is common. I'm going through 1 right now, so I went and converted a Tyranid Prime, DoM, and 2 Mycetic Spores.
Finally hit some good weather again for mountain biking. And Assassin's Creed 3 will probably help when it gets crappy out again

I have 3-4 projects i work on at the same time.
A SoH army,Inquisition army,IG army,and a massive terrain project.
When I get bored with one I go to the other.
Also sometimes I just model when hitting the block, seems when my painting mojo is at its lowest is when my modeling mojo is at its highest

This holds so true for me. I have absolutely zero interest in painting right now. All I want to do is convert stuff. So I've been working on finishing magnetizing some stuff and finishing a few conversion projects. When I feel like painting ill probably go back do 2 squads 2 vehicles and then be bored with it again. Like everyone is saying just take a bran if your not into it. Eventually something will spark your interest and you'll want to paint again.
