I saw the new kit but also noticed that it didn't actually display one of the splodges showing their colours or their names, apart from the front of paints in the picture does anyone know the rest of the colours.
Thanks

Looks to me like "wet" versions of several of the dry compound colours- I was contemplating getting the set but as you wont be able to replace individual pots as they are used up it seems a little pointless- especially for £35!

I've decided I'm going to try just adding water to the appropriate dry compound and use that instead!

I didn't even realize that they were limited edition, and only available as a set, until just now when I took a second look in my WD. If they become available as mainstream products, I might pick up one or two, as I need them. Otherwise, like Winact said, I see no point in investing in paints that will immediately become unavailable, as I hate it when a color I used in the past can't be acquired in the future if I want to expand on an old army.

Based on the last limited 'eavy medal release they will be around for at least another year, as last year's christmass special is still available.

2 mediocre brushes, 2 pots of non replaceable over priced medium(which one can make with materials from Michaels), and the tin which is the only thing mildly interesting about the set. Sadly the tin doesn't scream $50 to me.

they're not the wet versions of the dry paints (I hope as I've ordered some!) - the blue at least is a shade in between skink Blue and Temple guard Blue.
Apparently they're brighter (?) than the 'normal' layers...

Nope, they've been confirmed as the Layer version of the Dry paints.

My local GW store still has 3 of these sets in, It's a joke.

You tried those brushes yet?

I seem to remember a conversation we had about how the set is actually half decent. But I suppose haters gonna hate.

The new set is for extreme highlighting, like tiny dots on light reflections, you're gonna be using miniscule amounts of the paint included. I wouldn't worry about it running out in the next 5 years.

On the other hand - you can create most of the colours yourself by adding screaming skull, ulthuan grey or nurgling green to existing colours.

I am currently taking commissions.

Or simply adding Glaze medium to the dry compounds.

What about the brush, how does that compare to the standard GW detail brush?

The brushes are much better than the GW ones, But you can still find them elsewhere for cheaper.

Pretty much this.

let's look at a comparative item price:
https://www.rosemaryandco.com/index.php?currency=USD&cPath=275_365&osCsid=u0ri1l9u2ajvb770t3bk58rqc5

$6ea max for brushes that I consider to be the best. Let's assume the GW brushes are that good, though I doubt it.
GW pots are what? $3.70 ea? So there's $7.40.

$19.40 for the brushes and medium, which means $30 for that tin. The book is nothing but old WD articles.

As for the new paint set:
9 paints at $3.7ea, 1 brush at $6 and you get a total price of $39.3 for those and the remaining $19 for a booklet with tips that the internet begs you to have for free via youtube and sites like this.

I can think of much better ways to spend $58.

I can buy a fine detail brush for 30 pesos (roughly 3/4 of a US dollar) that has better quality than GW brushes.

Yay nearby China and your cheap stuff!

While it's cool that they made paints specifically for extreme edge highlights, I'd rather not spend $58 for a set of them. I might not need the pastel pink as much as I'd need the blue, and at the moment there's no way to get them individually.
