I am assembling a custom chapter. They are one of successor chapters of Dark Angels Legion (of unknown founding).


Let me share few photos of my army


- these are all the guys

Their colors are midnight blue+ ultramarine blue + silver;
Their heraldry is quarter moon _and_ Dark Angels winged dagger.

- Matthias, master of their first company "Revenant" (essentially acts as Master Belial)

- Whirlwind Missile Launcher

Thing with large dozer blade is "a Vindicator" built with spare Rhino bits and lot of plasticard

- I have urgently needed a vindicator for game and didn't have proper model kit. that's why this thing exists ;-)

History of guy on the right is quite funny. When I bought it, it was wearing Blood Angels colors:

And while cleaning previous owner's paint (in some areas one millimeter thick layer), I've revealed something blue (indicating its previous Ultramarines affiliation)

So he served at least three chapters in his lifetime ;-) Major refitting before joining ranks of Nocturnal Angels. (model, I've bought was severly damaged; missing even exhaust tubes, but it was so cheap that repairing it was a lot of fun)

For a short period he served Deathwing company of the first founding Dark Angels chapter. I've even played one game with him in this colors. (quality of paint job was then better; now it is really low tabletop quality and has to be improved...)

By the way: my chapter started as color scheme for "my Dark Angels". Then I came up with appropriately sinister-sounding name, and nicknames for particular companies and characters. And general fluff (which still evolves) focuses around fact that they're following ideas of their progenitors (I play Codexark Angels; my named characters are just DA characters under different names). "Nocturnal" and quarter moon in heraldry refers to night fighting being their specialty (no, they aren't any vampires or such).

Hello again. I have played a little bit and added one thing to my chapter. Master Joakim, he's the master of my second company. And he rides one of the last remaining imperial jetbikes. But I wanted my Jetbike to be a little bit distinct from one used by Master Sammael (after all each imperial jetbike in year 40000 is unique). I wanted my to look a little bit more like a jet fighter. And decided to scratch build one. And documented construction process for you!









How do you like him (and his machine)?

Added Land Speeders.

Weapons are magnetized - heavy bolters can be switched to multi-melta and assault cannons can be removed (I have one heavy flamer as alternative).

At 180pts it appears to be overcosted indeed (when compared to 130pts Vendetta or 100(do I recall correctly?)pts Stormtalon), but actually it's just what it looks like: flying Predator; Not the best interceptor fighter in game, but certainly useful in Dark Angels list (not so, if I have allies with their better flyers). Can kill aircraft (it's fancy Unrelenting Hunter rule helps), can kill light tanks (Strafing Run) and when facing Orks I can replace its Lascannon with "Avenger Mega Bolter" thing, which has quite a lot of dakka ;-)

Since recent Codex update Dark Angels really have no reasons to complain about anything in their rules. Every single unit in codex is playable.

Very nice work. I like your freehand and conversions (The MOTR looks great). I also really like the colour scheme. Dark, a little sinister, unique and still works for a "Dark Angels feel" as well. Well done mate!

I'm preparing 30-strong Deathwing Redemption Force (Apocalyptic Formation from WH40k:Apocalypse Reloaded) for upcoming Apocalypse Game.

i love the Vindicator's detritus scooped up by the dozer. The freehand painting on the vehicles is pretty slick, even if I think the Whirlwind's is a little silly.
