I'm currently trying to paint mine / the head to be specific. I can't for the life of me work out how to go about it. The face structure isn't like a regular humans so theres facial definitions missing and to try and 'paint' what theres not definitions for on a miniature so small doesn't seem to be working. I must have stripped the head several times now because I'm not happy with how its coming out.

I can't seem to get the colours right to begin with and ontop of that I can't get my head around how to paint chimera's head @.@ its driving me crazy and I'm trying to avoid the whole "screw it this will do" and just going regular skin tone + ink + regular skintone highlight.

Me too, the Chimera is 3rd line for me behind one of the Pupniks and a Knight of Montessa, will post pics and thoughts as soon as I have tried!

You are right though, it does look very finely detailed.. perhaps from what you say don't try and paint it like regular human skin? After all she isn't exactly a normal human...

I've mostly done mine. It was painted in a time when I was waay out of practice and I really didn't know what colours to use. Think I got there in the end. I'll put up some pics of my Uberfallkommando later; I'm actually working on them tonight

Heres mine, a friend helped me refine it a bit.

I need a better photography station...

Gathering the Informations.

I would do a really unhealthy/diseased skintone to get across the point that "This is not human".

It's the same thing I'm actually going to be doing for my Operations Subsection for ALEPH. Using a very light grey with a fleshtone mixed together, with progressively more grey works great with this.

I'm watching with interest too. Chimera is first on the chopping block for me and any advice could be useful.

I just got mine put together last night.

Broke the chain, messed everything up. Was as much of a nightmare as I suspected.

More images of finished Chimera pleeeease!

Infinity definitely poses a greater challenge for the regular miniature hobbyist... especially as I'm only used to painting GW minis. I will be grabbing myself a Chimera at some point so interested to see how this pans out!

Gathering the Informations.

As silly as it may sound:
Look into the various "How to Paint" books out there. Not just GW's, but their books are definitely aimed towards helping beginning/regular painters get the best results for the least amount of skill required.

Then there's also the various blogs around.

I decided im probably going to go straight for a regular skin tone now, I've stripped the head about 7 times now xD It's making me miss painting GW mini's its so damn small. I have the rest of my 150pt group to do which is an additional 10 minis and 2 zonds @.@ I've spent way to long on this already.

Can we get a pic of the outcome?
