Here are some of the 'stealers from Space Hulk. The whole set is painted in this same style.

The color scheme actually came from Gears of War (since wretches are basically genestealers anyway). But while I was painting them, I decided they needed me to increase the contrast between the different areas, increase the saturation a bit, and not to put a coat of grime over the whole thing. In the end, they didn't end up looking much like wretches at all.

Maybe if I had put a coat of grime over the camera and took photos in sepia...

They are nice . They look like they are wearing their own body like a huge pajama.

Got milk?

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

PM me if you are interested in Commission work.

I like the similarity in colour between the Stealers and the ship/base/terrain stuff, it makes sense.
Very nicely done.

These were some of my favorite models to paint. Well done!

I've never seen 'Nids painted like that before. It almost looks like they're wearing leotards. Looks good, man, keep up the good work.

I like these. They really blend in with the hulk. As they should. Just like the final bits of Alien...

These look really fantastic. How did you get that wonderful grey metal colour?

The grey on the metal starts out with P3 Ironhull Gray (a medium grey which is a little warm). This is shaded with P3 Bloodstone (a very nice rusty color) and highlighted up to P3 Frostbite. So it is a warm grey shaded with a very warm brown and highlighted towards an off-white blue.

The grey on the 'stealers starts out with P3 Greatcoat Gray (like Ironhull, but much cooler) shaded with P3 Sanguine Base and highlighted towards the same Frostbite color.

By the way, someone asked for a pic of the Brood Lord for comparison- I posted him a while ago, but here he is again:

And with such a nice board, playing with painted minis is really great. It adds a lot, I think.
