Drop Trooper with Demo Charge

I had an idea that consisted of using Coteaz to unlock henchmen as troops and run 3-4 12 men squads of warrior acolytes with mg/pg to add some bodies to my grey knights.
I play mainly 1000 - 1250 point games and this will add some much needed cheap scoring bodies to my grey knights.
The main thing I was wondering is if they work on foot?

Only 5+ save and lacking the bodies that guard can take. Maybe a defense line for cover. I dont think you could walk a melta squad up to an opponents tank and get away with it

I play on quite a terrain heavy board, would this give me more durability or would i have to purchase a defense line.
A quad gun would provide some nice anti-air though.

Depends how much flyers you face at 1000-1250 points. Just the defense line is only 50 points and I would recommend it as you can position it where you want it most. Take the quad gun but only if you will be playing flyers often.
Also take 2 units of 3 plasma cannon servitors, put coteaz in one and a inquisitor ion the other, cast prescience and you will take out pretty much anything.

Now that i think about it would blob guard allies be a better option than footslogging henchmen. I mainly just want these guys to take objectives and just have lots of bodies to support my grey knights, or is that not a good option at these points levels.

Henchmen are more fluffy. I suppose you could paint em the same colour scheme say they were drafted by the authority of the Inquisition.

Yeah and it would save me from having to get 40 boltguns to put on the henchmen.

Except for anything that is smart enough to stay out of range where you can't get them because you are not Relentless. This has always made Plasma Servitor units rare on the field.

I'd say having 36" zone of total denial is quite good use of 60 points, wouldn't you agree? Besides, in DoW, you can cover 79% of the table and ~50% of enemy deployment zone with single Plasma Cannon squad, two squads raise the numbers closer to 95% and 90%. Obviously LOS blocking terrain will change things.
Personally, I think the Mindlock is the real reason you don't see too many servitors about. In 5e, Inquisitors generally weren't that good and usually you get far more bang for your buck by using Prescience on 10 man GKSS or GKT squad than you get by using it on Henchman squad.
