early rampant speculation time! I'm dreaming about the Tempest Blazers and I hope they're going to be a ranged-focused unit and I'd be surprised if they're not.
I think :
PC - 6/10
SPD 9 STR 4 MAT 4 RAT 7 DEF 14 ARM 13 5 boxes each
2 X Magelock Pistol - RNG 10 POW 10
Snap Fire
Gunfighter
'Jack Marshall
Rune Shot
- Crit. Brutal Damage
- A shot that pulls the target D3" Directly towards the Blazers (or jack using rune shot)
- Blessed type weapon (ignores any addition to targets ARM or DEF through spells, debuffs still apply)
- Ignore Stealth
(both guns on each model must use the same attack type, but each model can use a different one)

And maybe a UA or Solo granting/tacticing Hunter or prey

What does Dakka think

They won't get two pistols. That's supposed to be something very hard for a Gun Mage to be able to do and it's unlikely you'd see a whole unit of them. If they don't ignore Stealth it's going to make it hard for me to be afraid of them.

Bring on the Bane Cav!

I agree with Aduro, they need to either ignore stealth or have much more fierce attack types than the standard gun mages. In your example, blessed and crit brutal seem to step on each others' toes a bit since blessed would be outright better if the target had any kind of arm or def buff. Critical effects on infantry are not exactly highly rated. Also, as ranged cav they are giving up one of the benefit of cavalry charge so a little compensation may be in order to not have the unit feel overcosted.
I like the idea of a pull on a unit with light cav move though, that alone would make the minimum unit tempting.

Could also always look at the different Rune Shots in the IKRPG to see what toys they might get.

I don't know. Light Cav can kind of nullify the advantage of stealth.

Assuming SPD 9:

Move 9", if you were 14" away you're now inside stealth range,
fire, light cav move 5" away. If you hit/killed anything with shots
you should be effectively outside of getting counter-charged the
following turn.

Why would I pay 10 points for five guys that can shoot stealth with a threat range of 14" that end 10" away from the target when I can pay 8 points for seven guys that have a threat range of 20" that end 14" away? In any other faction the normal sight blazers would be a welcome addition, but in cygnar (and highborn hopefully) they would be dead weight if they were only gun mages that traded their officer for horseys.

The tempest blazers don't need true sight though, I really don't want them to step into a familiar role and answer a question cygnar players didn't ask. I would much rather the blazers do things that our existing infantry do not so they don't have to compete with a great existing unit.

No doubt. What I'm saying is that True Sight isn't a necessary
factor.

I originally put the with brutal, not crit brutal, but I thought brutal damage rune shot on a hunter or defender seemed op, so crit brutal it was, as I doubt PP would do that.

Also, I thought an attack type ignoring stealth would be more likely then true sight or similar, and could be more useful especially on a jack; and with a 19" threat range its still useful and good, but not to good

Furthermore: If you shoot at a high base ARM model/unit, crit brutal is more useful, where-as, against a low-medium base stat that has been buffed, choose blessed
