Well. seeing as its about a month till Christmas, I've been trying to decide both what i want and what to get for others.

So, people of dakka, what do you want for christmas? What are you going to get for others?

I was hoping to finish off my Xbox 360 setup. All that is needed is some sort of data storage device, a modem, maybe some games, and a new pimping controller.

Want: DeHavilland Chipmunk. Sadly Santa is not going to be that generous this year.

Getting for others: coal.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Getting for myself ... err, my son ... Lego Lord of the Rings.

Wife's still not picking up the hints I'm dropping about a Warhound Titan. Or sexy undies. Maybe she can't find them in my size ...

I don't really celebrate anymore. Sometimes my mother and I will do some small gift exchanges, nothing much over $20. If we wind up doing that this year, I'll probably just ask for some more warmachine pieces. There are still a few things I'd like to pick up to round out some of my lists.

Ah Christmas, that magical time of year when we show our love for one another by digging deep into our wallets.

For myself, really don't want much ( and will likely recieve just that) a few miniatures, books and movies to add to my constantly growing "Zombie pile"...along with the disapproving look on my mother in laws face at recieving said zombie items.
" The Walking Dead?...That ain't very Christmasy...tsk"
Joy to the World.

My children of course have been carpet bombing the Missus and I with not so subtle hints since before Halloween.
Both are now old enough to know that (gasp) there is no Santa...so they've taking their (non stop) item request straight to the source..and not a day go by with out one of them pointing out something "cool" to the missus or myself.
My Daughter , the more realistic of the two ( amazingly) wants a load of clothes and video games and art supplies...so she'll be having a pretty Merry Christmas.
My son however seeems to be laboring under the delusion that I'm the President of some fortune 500 company, and has thus far requested items totaling well into the thousands...he's getting a lump of coal coupled with a much needed wake up call.
As for the Missus, I'll of course be getting her a few small tokens of affection...but the real gift will come after all the Christmas hub bub is over...we'll be going on vacation...just us...not sure where just yet...but the important part is that the kids won't be with us...they get to spend the week with Grandma...think I'll send my Walking Dead Dvds with them.

People have been asking me what I want for Christmas. When I was younger it was easy, but now I can't really think of anything I really want/need. Currently I've just responded with a Man Overboard or Rise Against t-shirt and a guitar case. Maybe some Dark Eldar or some of that new Hobbit stuff after I look at what it is exactly.

I can't think of much I want for christmas. There's a Scibor miniature I'd like, and I had this idea to get nine different boosters of MtG and have a really weird draft with my wife and friend. That's about it.

I was thinking of getting my younger sisters a kindle fire HD for each of em. But I think gift cards are a better move. People say it isn't thoughtful, but I say its better to be safe and they get what they want. When I was still in my mid teens Id get clothes that Id outgrow in few months into the new year. "Wheres that shirt I got you?" theyd ask.

I might buy the clone wars series on blu ray for myself.

I wouldn't mind a house and a job.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

In all honesty there isn't a whole lot I want maybe a few music CD's to add to my growing collection but that's about it, if I want something I get it myself. The stuff I really want is my own home and a decent job but those aren't things I can expect from Santa (aka mom and dad) and nor do I

think it's realistic to be having that at 19. The things I like most about Christmas are the feast, the sweets and it's a whole day to relax I don't care that much for the presents anymore (most of it's junk I don't use anyways). Christmas can be pretty fun but if the holiday was gone I wouldn't be

that bothered by it, Halloween is where the gak's at.

Man you don't need a girlfriend unless you meet someone you really like....
But anyway!

I want....
new shoes,
new pants,
new shirts,
a laptop for college..
and thats it.

A girlfriend would not be nice right now, maybe a bromance button on facebook though.
