So as you clearly have noticed my EC have a unique color scheme, I wanted something loud and could be seen from across the room. I think this center piece will really help draw the eye. Hope you like it.

More of my EC to see how it matches the rest of the color scheme can be found here.

Looks good but I can't say I'm a fan of the colour scheme. The green/white and orange just don't seem to go together.

You know what's the best thing about this model of yours?

The base.
The idea of the burnt soil is just awesome.

I'm a fan.

huge fan of the base, but the colours clash pretty hard on the model itself.

I dig the colours, it's definitely gonna draw attention. The orange areas look sort of flat though, like they're missing lightning or something. Best is the overall pose though, looks cinematic!

Edit: maybe if you made the wings with the same green/white as the main body. The green could take a few dark washes and then some blue stars in the fields.

Yup, the base is pretty sweet.

Not really digging the mix of colors here. Just seems like you ran out of one paint and started with another. And it doesn't really fit the EC theme.

I like the idea of a gradient stretched across each wing, but I do agree that there's a lot of flat orange. I think simply stretching the yellow out into a longer fade with a greater degree of variation in the orange would solve the problem while keeping the original idea intact.

As far as the general scheme is concerned, I also think it clashes pretty hard. I like the bright orange/bronze and I like the green/silver, I just don't like them together. Feels like two distinct schemes were just slapped together, especially considering each is restricted to a distinct body section. Considering what you've done with the army so far, though, it fits.

I am a huge fan of the idea of the base, though. The execution isn't flawless, by any means (not to say it's an easy effect to pull of, either), but it's a great idea. Surprised I haven't seen more like it, honestly. Guess it's one of those things that seem obvious, but only in hindsight.

Anyone who says this doesn't fit with EC doesn't know their ass from their elbow. The jarring garish colors are perfect for the sensory overload that is slaneesh. Great work!

The color combination are fine. Orange and Green oppose each other and are perfect with the screaming colors that emperor's children's go for.

My main concern is the white however, it looks somewhat flat, kind of like you had primed those parts white and then left them that way.

Thanks for all the great comments so far.

Just a few things of note to let people know from where I was coming from. The colors are in the high contrast category of painting. Red and green are contrasting colors and orange is a secondary complementary color of Red. So according to my color wheel and by my high school art class regarding color I didn't break any of the rules. However, having said that, its not a color combination many people are used to. But I wanted something that really stood out and was loud and contrasty for my EC. I was not going to paint black and pink No, just no.

There is shading on the large orange wings and body. Its a degradation pattern from darkest orange to lightest going from closest to body to wing tips. But I can see how it doesn't show up well on all the pictures. Just letting you know that it is there. However, maybe each "cell" could be have been more pronounced.

As for the white, its not really white at all. The base coat is boltgun metal, then heavily dry brushed bleach bone with the edges picked out in skull white. It does show up much better on the actual model. And the color combos really hold together when looking at the entire army. I have never gotten anything but compliments from anyone who has actually seen it all together. However, I can totally see where some of the other end of spectrum opinions can come from. Its not color scheme that many would choose to do.

Thanks for the complements on the base. My green stuff flame sculpting was not the best, but then again, I've never even tried it before. I think it could be better, but I'm not disappointed in how it turned out and I think it is good enough to get the point across. As this army has a very simplistic basing scheme, I had to do something other than just a large grass field. It would have looked too weird.
