I was fiddling with some stuff today and accidentally stumbled upon a rather nice shotgun mod for Guardsmen, using only the lasguns they come with. If this one is old hat, then feel free to deride

Starting with extracting the rifle from the arm, or using the loose one, trim off the stock, the power pack and the muzzle:


I found you can trim off the muzzle while leaving a thicker bit that gives it a bit of oomph.

Then simple turn the thing upside down, cut out a new flat bt at the rear for the grip and add the muzzle on the top as optics and you're done. I also trimmed down the power magazine mount a bit to get the optics a bit closer to the top of the receiver, but YMMV. You need to shave off the eagle as well, remember, otherwise it will look weird

the end result doesnt look much like a shotgun at all to me.... more like a bullpup assault rifle of some kind

It's not bad. Quick and easy. If the barrel could only be improved a bit I think it would help. Maybe use a plastic rod to extend it out?

Well, it looks a lot like the Mass Effect shotguns, which was my original requirement You could easily re-add the power pack as a magazine or stick a box mag, or grenade launcher drum.

I like the idea of the grenade launcher drum...might have to try that!

I don't like the shotgun, but I like the Krogan. What did you get it from?

Heh. fair enough. The Krogan is a back to front Stealthsuit torso with the jump jet removed and replaced with a Terminator chest piece. The head is based on a dark eldar head, but is basically a lump of GS. The arms are standard terminator arms. I will also be adding Stealthsuit legs, when they arrive.

I dig this shotgun hard, excellent work. You even got the little buttons/lights visible so I don't see how no-one thought of this before.

I want to see that Krogan completed.
